Macaulay Culkin is marked by his participation in “Home Alone.”

The actor spoke about the incident that left a permanent mark on him during the “A Nostalgic Evening with Macaulay Culkin” event on Saturday, which celebrated 35 years since the Christmas classic hit theaters.

Culkin said his co-star Joe Pesci “bit me during rehearsal” before filming even began.

“What you also have to remember is that I’m not actually on screen with Joe and Dan. [Stern] much of the movie. “They’re doing everything,” Culkin said, via People magazine. “I was just talking to the ether.”

“So I really didn’t know [Pesci] everything very good. And this is one of the last days of filming, and I’m hanging there, very vulnerable: 9, not just a normal 9-year-old,” Culkin said, recalling a memorable scene from the film in which he comes face to face with intruders and Pesci threatens to bite his fingers off.

“He said, ‘I’m [going to bite] ‘These fingers are cut off one at a time,’ and then he sank his teeth into my finger,” Culkin said. “I thought, ‘ahhh!'”

“You should have seen his face because he took this tough guy and said ‘Oooh,’ because he knew he bit a 9-year-old kid. A 9-year-old co-worker. Get HR involved,” Culkin joked, before adding that Pesci apologized.

“It actually left a mark. It’s been 35 years and I still have this little hole there,” the actor shared. “So yeah, it gave me a memory. It’s a nice story to entertain you. It’s worth it now, but back then the question was: who is this creep?”

Culkin has previously spoken openly about the injury, telling Conan O’Brien in 2004 that the actor “broke his skin and everything!”

“I got really mad at him. I said, ‘I don’t care how many Oscars you have! You’re biting a 9-year-old, what the hell is wrong with you?'” she said.

Pesci himself was later injured during the filming of “Home Alone 2” while attempting to perform a fire stunt.

“In addition to the expected bumps, bruises, and general soreness that you would associate with that particular type of physical humor, I suffered severe burns to the top of my head during the scene where Harry’s hat is set on fire,” Pesci told People magazine during an interview in 2022.
