A man is dead after a shooting involved in the police at the Pearson International Airport in Toronto on Thursday morning, authorities said.
Peel Regional Police initially said in a social media post that a man was shot out of the terminal.
The Toronto Special Research Unit identified man as a 30 -year -old player. The unit said that Peel Regional Police officers were investigating a “man in trouble” in a SUV in the main output area of the airport terminal. The first reports indicated that the man produced a firearm, said the unit, and three officers shot in response.
The man was taken to a hospital and declared dead, the unit said. Peel’s paramedics initially said that they had been called to the airport at 6:56 am and that no one was transported to the hospital. A Canadian press photograph of the scene seemed to show a body under a yellow canvas outside the departure area of the airport terminals.

The shooting will be investigated by the Special Research Unit. Three forensic researchers and six researchers have been assigned to the case.
No police officer were injured, the unit said, and there is no known threat to the public.
The Provincial Police of Ontario said the roads closed from Highway 409 to terminal 1.
The video posted on social networks on the early Thursday seemed to show a great police presence outside the airport.
The cars seemed to be supported along the road that leads to the terminal.
