Margot Robbie reveals the most unwanted gift she received from a fellow actor

As she prepares for her return to the big screen, Margot Robbie opens up about the unsolicited advice she received early in her career from a fellow actor.

Sitting down with pop musician Charli XCX for Complex’s latest “GOAT Talk” video interview, Robbie didn’t miss a beat when asked about the worst gift she’s ever received.

“Very, very early in my career, an actor I worked with, a male actor, gave me a book called ‘Why French Women Don’t Get Fat,’ and it was essentially a book that told you to eat less. I was like, ‘Whoa, fuck you, dude!'”

She went on to note, “He basically gave me a book to tell me I should lose weight. I was like, ‘Wow.'”

Robbie was referring to “French Women Don’t Get Fat: The Secret of Eating for Pleasure” by Mireille Guiliano. According to a synopsis on Giuliano’s official website, the 2004 book “reveals the ingredients for a lifetime of weight control” and “shows how virtually anyone can learn to eat, drink, and move like a French woman.”

Robbie, however, seemed to have the last laugh. After Charli XCX pressed the “Barbie” star for details about which actor had given her the book, she shrugged.
