Matty Healy’s mother gave Taylor Swift a public blow this week, suggesting that she is happy with her son’s romance with the 14 -time Grammy winner was short -lived.

Appearing on Thursday in “Watch What Happens Live” by Bravo, Denise Welch was asked for his thoughts about “The tortured Poets Department”, Swift’s successful 2024 album that contains numerous songs that is believed to be inspired by Healy.

“Obviously, in the pain of death, I can talk about that episode, but not being his mother -in -law is a role that I am glad to have lost,” said “Women Loos”, host Andy Cohen.

After his comment extracted audible gasps from the audience, Welch clarified that he “has anything against,” he added: “It was alone, you know … it was complicated.”

Even so, she could not resist another excavation.

“Listen, you can’t say anything, and then write a complete album about it,” he joked.

Healy, who is the leader of the 1975 Pop-rock band, and Swift was romantically linked in May 2023. Although they were photographed together on numerous occasions, the couple never publicly confirmed a relationship.

At that time, the news of romance caused a violent reaction of many of Swift’s fans, given the story of Healy problematic comments about women and people of color, so he later apologized.

Approximately one month after Healy and Swift were seen together, the relationship seemed to have followed their course. Shortly after, Swift began dating her current boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce.

As for Healy, he and Gabriella Bechtel, model and musician, confirmed their commitment in June 2024. Although the timeline of that relationship is not clear, the couple was seen in an event of the New York fashion week at the end of 2023, approximately at the same time that Kelce and Swift became public with their romance.

In his appearance “Watch What Happens Live”, Welch assured the spectators that his son has dealt with the speculation of the media surrounding his break with one of the largest pop stars in the world “All in Boole Grace”, and that he and his fiancee are “very happy” together.

“So we have moved on,” he added.
