Megyn Kelly lashes out at Chris Cuomo after he suggests she’s a sloppy influencer

Megyn Kelly called NewsNation host Chris Cuomo a “moron” after he suggested Kelly was a “sloppy influencer” on his show “CUOMO.”

On Tuesday’s episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show” the political commentator responded to Cuomo while defending his coverage of the disappearance of “Today” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie.

“I’ll show you what that idiot Chris Cuomo is saying… He’s very upset that Ashleigh Banfield and yours truly have raised questions about [Savannah Guthrie‘s] brother in law.”

Kelly, Banfield and other journalists have alluded that Tommaso Cioni, the brother-in-law, could be a suspect in the mother’s disappearance. TMZ, however, reported on Feb. 5 that the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said no suspects had been identified in the ongoing investigation into Guthrie’s disappearance.

Kelly went on to play a clip of Cuomo pointing directly at her while complaining about “careless influencers and wannabe detectives” covering Guthrie’s disappearance for “clicks and rage.”

In response to Cuomo’s comments, Kelly said, “In an investigation like this, you don’t rule out the family because of their petty feelings… No one has been ruled out. Absolutely not. Not the family. Nobody. Nobody has been ruled out. Everyone remains a suspect until we have someone in handcuffs.”

Comparing Cuomo to “The Godfather” character Fredo Corleone, Kelly mocked the host for his “little-known show on NewsNation,” which she said has “fewer viewers than fingers.”

Accusing Cuomo of being “jealous” of his success, he continued: “Let me tell you why Fredo is really upset. Fredo No-Rato, that’s his real problem. Nobody watches his show on NewsNation… Nobody watches his failed podcast either. Nobody watched his SiriusXM radio show. Nobody watched him on CNN.”

He added: “And so he gets upset with anyone who does well, like our show, which is always one of the top three conservative podcasts in the country. It’s currently number one on Apple. Fredo doesn’t like that. Because, like I say, Fredo No-Rato. So he gets upset and jealous.”

Kelly took another swipe at the former ABC anchor and condemned Cuomo for allegedly protecting his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, in previous news coverage. Andrew Cuomo resigned in 2021 following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.

“I know you are dedicated to protecting your family,” he said. “We learned it firsthand during COVID, when you put your loser brother on [your show] and you ran to cover him…ultimately, it was one of the things that led to your downfall.”

“You did not honestly report on his many, many problems during COVID, or his many, many problems grabbing women,” Kelly continued. “And maybe the reason you decided not to is because you yourself were accused of having a #MeToo problem, as you well know.”

Cuomo was fired by CNN in December 2021 after he was accused of using his position as a journalist to help his brother defend himself against multiple allegations of sexual misconduct. The former correspondent was also accused of sexual harassment by a former colleague, which he denied.

Elsewhere in the episode, Kelly also claimed that Cuomo once called his lawyer and “begged him to make me stop mentioning him.”

She added: “He didn’t want me to attack him because it hurt his little feelings.”

On Wednesday, Cuomo responded to her segment about him, writing in an X post: “Get over yourself, you little hater. Odd choice of language for a mother with young children. Classy.”
