Mel Gibson, 69, and his longtime partner, 35, confirm it
Mel Gibson and screenwriter Rosalind Ross split after nine years together.
On Tuesday, the couple, who quietly split about a year ago, confirmed their split in a joint statement to People.
“While it is sad to end this chapter in our lives, we are blessed with a beautiful son and will continue to be the best parents we can be,” Gibson and Ross told the outlet.
News has contacted Gibson’s representatives for comment.
Gibson and Ross are parents to their first child together, Lars, whom they welcomed in 2017.
The two-time Oscar winner is also the father of seven other children (Hannah, Edward, Christian, William, Louis, Milo and Thomas) with his ex-wife Robyn Moore. The “Lethal Weapon” star also shares his daughter Lucia with his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.

Gibson, 69, began dating Ross, 35, in 2014 after meeting through mutual friends. The couple largely kept their relationship a secret.
When asked about his 34-year age difference with Ross in 2016, the “The Passion of the Christ” director noted that it “could cause a problem” but that things between them were “working very well.”
“As far as age and relationships, it’s just a number,” Gibson told The Mirror. “We like each other. She’s an adult and we like each other. It can cause a problem and you’re afraid of these things, but it’s working out great. She’s a really special person. I love her. So there you have it. That’s it. What more could you ask for?”
