Mom accredits Tiktok video for cancer diagnosis that save lives after a strange nail brand

A video of Tiktok played a key role in the diagnosis of a mother’s cancer after she took her to see a doctor with respect to a strange brand in her nail, Swns reported.

Lauren Koltcz, 45, of North Royalton, Ohio, noticed a brown line in his left miniature, but thought it was caused by a vitamin deficiency.

When the brown line became thicker, the mother of two children spoke with her practitioner, who said it could be a fungal infection.

Then, in February 2025, he noticed that the line was extended by his nail.

In a video, a dermatologist implored those with brown lines on their nails to see a medical professional.

Koltcz reserved an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic, where doctors took a biopsy of the Brown area.

The next day, he received a call from his doctor, Alison Vida, MD, who said they needed to make a biopsy.
