The National Children’s Hospital in Washington, DC, has announced that it will no longer provide medical interventions related to gender transition.

The website for the “Gender Development Program” of the Hospital shows a message for existing and new patients who announce the change, which will enter into force on August 30.

“In light of increasing the legal and regulatory risks for children’s children, our suppliers and the families we serve, we will discontinue the prescription of medicines that affirm the genre,” says the message. “Mental health and other support services for LGBT patients remain available. It is always welcome in Children’s National for their other medical needs.”

“We know that this change will have a significant impact on patients, families and personnel affected. Our care teams are working directly with the families of current patients to support them,” he adds, urging people with questions to communicate directly with the hospital.

The announcement occurs after the Department of Justice on July 9 sent more than 20 citations to doctors and clinics involved in the performance of transgender medical procedures in children.

The Trump administration said DAJ investigations include health fraud, false statements and more.

“The professionals and medical organizations that mutilated children at the service of a deformed ideology will be responsible for this Department of Justice,” said Attorney General Pamela Bondi in a statement at that time.

It was not clear immediately if Children’s National received a summons.

Reached to comment from News Digital, a spokesman for the Children National Hospital did not address the probes of the Department of Justice and provided a statement similar to that already published on its website, citing “legal and regulatory risks increased.”

“LGBT patients are always welcome in Children’s National for other medical needs and treatment,” said the spokesman.

At the end of January, President Donald Trump signed an executive order entitled, “protect children from chemical and surgical mutilation”, which ordered federal agencies to cut Medicare, Medicaid and other federal funds of suppliers that offer the so -called “gender management to which gender care” to patients of 19 years.

The Children’s National Hospital was among several hospitals that arrested recipes, recharges and medications to minors as a result of Trump’s order, but then resumed these transgender services after the court intervened, according to the Washington Post.

From Friday’s announcement that the hospital would stop providing gender transition services to children on August 30, the post obtained a message sent to impacted families that say that national teams of children “are available to help it as it progresses”, but will no longer evaluate patients to obtain medications for medications. or monitor medications through laboratories such as blood test.

According to Trump’s executive order, “throughout the country today, medical professionals are mutilating and sterilizing a growing number of impressionable children under the radical and false statement that adults can change the sex of a child through a series of irreversible medical interventions. This dangerous trend will be a stain in the history of our nation, and must end.”

The order states: “Innumerable children soon regret having mutilated and begin to understand the horrible tragedy that they can never conceive their own children or nurture their children through breastfeeding” and, in addition, “the medical bills of these vulnerable young people can increase throughout their lives, since they are often trapped with medical complications for life, a war of vulnerable solutions with their own Organizations, and, in their life, which are often trapped.

He adds that the United States “will not finance, sponsor, promote, help or support the so -called” transition “of one child from one sex to another, and will rigorously comply with all laws that prohibit or limit these destructive procedures and alteration of life.”

Ben Takai, the president of the DC Pflag Metro Board, who is involved in the demand that challenges Trump’s order, told the post that the change in Children’s National was sad, and added that “there are many ways to intimidate minority populations.”

Children’s National affirms on the website of their gender development program that “some young people feel, feel or know that they are a different gender than the one that was assumed at birth.”

“They can live and dress typically of another genre (non -gender conformity), and some may experience the need to live and affirm how this genre in some or all environments,” says the hospital. “This can be an urgent need, or for others, there may be experimentation and exploration. There are also some young people who show gender non-conformity in their daily behaviors, but they still do not have self-advocation skills to discuss their gender identity and gender-related needs.”

The hospital’s website says that parents’ consent must provide “medical care to affirm the genre” to a minor in the Columbia district. The hospital also says that it does not provide a “gender statement surgery” for any person under 18 and does not provide hormonal therapy to children before puberty begins.

The US Department of Health and Services. UU. In May, it published a report to frame gender transition treatments for minors as risky and insufficient studied. To treat pediatric gender dysphoria, it recommends replacing most medical interventions with “exploratory therapy.” The report says that the “model of attention” affirmed by gender includes irreversible endocrine and surgical interventions in minors without physical pathology. “

“These interventions have a risk of significant damage, including infertility/sterility, sexual dysfunction, accumulation of deteriorated bone density, adverse cognitive impacts, cardiovascular diseases and metabolic disorders, psychiatric disorders, surgical complications and decline,” according to HHS. “Meanwhile, the systematic reviews of the evidence have revealed a deep uncertainty about the alleged benefits of these interventions.”
