News senior medical analyst Dr. Marc Siegel on Tuesday made up a far-fetched excuse for President Donald Trump’s apparent dream at a recent Cabinet meeting.

Siegel, who has claimed to be “mesmerized” by Trump’s public speeches and has described him as “very cognitively advanced” over the years, joined Laura Ingraham’s show after she claimed the left went “crazy” because Trump closed his eyes for “a few seconds” while Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke.

Trump, who was caught napping at a White House event early last month, closed his eyelids on other occasions during Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting.

“Thomas Edison believed in the 10-minute nap, by the way. What would they say? We wouldn’t have electricity, would we?” said Siegel of Edison, who invented one of the first versions of the incandescent (not electric) light bulb.

Moments earlier, Siegel claimed that the president appeared to be “extremely intelligent” before declaring that the left’s interest in the president’s supposed numbing was simply a “bait and switch,” as critics are unhappy with Trump’s fixation on Joe Biden’s “automatic openness.”

He went on to dismiss comments about Trump’s recent MRI, which fueled more questions about the president’s health and cognitive fitness.

“This is a shame because we don’t need to see President Trump pass cognitive tests, like you just said, he passes one every day,” Siegel argued. “Every moment, going in and out of press conferences. In fact, I’ve never seen anything like it.”

Ingraham went on to excuse Trump’s apparent drowsiness, stating that everyone knows that the president, who recently made a massive hours-long post that lasted almost until midnight before making another post at 5:48 a.m., doesn’t sleep.

“I’m not very sleepy either. So, you know, sometimes I close my eyes if someone talks for too long, I admit that. But it’s a big problem. I mean, the results speak for themselves,” he said. “What President Trump does every day. If you sleep three or four hours a night, you’re probably going to close your eyes whether you’re 79 or 49. I don’t think that matters.”
