Newsom says that Democrats come

The governor of California Gavin Newsom (D) critically spoke of the Democratic Party in a new interview with The Hill, saying that he has not evaluated the errors of the 2024 elections and that he is “fighting” to understand his direction.

“We have not done a coroner of what simply went wrong, point, full stop,” he said about past electoral losses. “I don’t think so, I know.”

Newsom, who recently said that Democrats’s position by including transgender children in sports was “deeply unfair” and has invited extreme right figures to his podcast, said he has not been part of any of these discussions.

“I mean, to the extent that I am marginally part of this part, I represent the state of more than 21 combined state populations, and I can assure you that there is no discussion of the party that I am aware that the state of California has included,” he told The Hill.

“I don’t know what the party is,” he continued. “I’m still fighting with that.”

The outrage around him that he has two conservative personalities in his podcast demonstrates what is wrong with the party, he added.

“The reaction when I had Charlie Kirk and Bannon was exactly, for me, exhibiting one of what I feel is wrong with my group: a lack of will to even participate in the platform, listen,” said Newsom.

“Perhaps we should pay attention and at least express the desire to absorb and learn from what they are doing and how successful they have been,” he continued.

It is not clear which Newsom strategy believes that Democrats should absorb of those two men. Bannon, who served as the main strategist of President Donald Trump, is a notorious esparcidor of electoral lies that openly boasted the media with falsehoods, saying in 2020 that “the way to deal with them is to flood the area with shit.” Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, is also a regular street vendor of lies, above all, from vaccines to electoral interference.

In addition to fanning the outrage at the party by having Bannon and Kirk in his podcast, Newsom recently caught the created when he seemed to criticize the urgency around Kilmar Abrego García, who was unfairly deported and placed in a prison in El Salvador. His office retreated the accusations.

Newsom, who cannot apply again for governor due to term limits, is widely speculated that he is postulated for president in 2028. In the interview, he argued that California is a microcosm from all over the country, an apparent response to concerns about another presidential candidate of the gold state.

“For those who think that California is just a coastal state, we have 150% more AG works, hunting, forestry than the next state, 150% larger. So, you know, you talk about the United States, we are only America, only more,” he said.
