NFL has a moment of silence for Charlie Kirk in the Packers-Commanders game after the murder

The NFL had a moment of silent reflection against the game “Thursday night on Thursday night” of the Green Bay Packers, the Washington commanders for Charlie Kirk after their murder at the University of Utah Valley on Wednesday.
Millions showed support to Kirk’s family, including NFL, before the start of Thursday night in Lambeau Field.
“The National Football League asks you to join us in a silent reflection after the murder of Charlie Kirk. The NFL condemns all the violence in our communities. It will lead us all to stop hatred,” said Lambeau’s public announcer.

Many in the NFL world reacted with mourning and devastation to the news that Kirk was shot, including former field marshal Tim Tebow.
“Evil is real. There is no doubt, the enemy is working hard,” Tebow wrote in X. “These last days, the weight of evil has been heavy throughout our nation. But I know this: he will not have the last word. One day, God will do everything right.

“Until then, we pray. We cry with those who cry. And we continue to fight, knowing that victory has already been won.”
The former NFL Pat Mcafee player also shared his thoughts about X, calling the “surprising” shooting.
“I am not a political person, but I am a proud American citizen and today it was surprising, sad and crazy at the same time …” Mcafee wrote in X. “I realized that I am a bit naive of how crazy he has become everything, but seeing a man be hunted and killed in the daylight due to his opinions made me disgust and devastated.

“This cannot be what we really are or become a country … I think that good people will always exceed evil people, but damn it … today was an alarming day in the history of our country.”
Mcafee also talked about Kirk during his Thursday edition of “The Pat Mcaee Show” by ESPN, where he reaffirmed that he is not someone focused on political space, but could not help questioning the shooting.
“Yesterday, every time we see that a public execution of this man occurs in all palms of our hands in real time … You cannot avoid asking you … First, it has family, it has children. But, also, are we a society that is really going to become a wild moment? On September 11, 2025, maybe having a moment of September 12, 2001.”
From the Kansas City boster kicker, Harrison Butker, to former NFL receptors, Julian Edelman, Antonio Brown and Golden Tate, the reactions were abundant from the football community.

President Donald Trump confirmed that Kirk will posthumously receive the presidential medal of La Libertad.
Kirk is survived by his wife, Erika, and his two children. I was 31 years old.
