Nicki Minaj flees Instagram after proudly declaring herself a conservative
Nicki Minaj deactivated her Instagram account after a surprise appearance at a major event for conservative organizing machine Turning Point USA.
People on the Internet noticed that the “Anaconda” rapper’s Instagram had gone dark on Wednesday, just days after she befriended rising Republican celebrity Erika Kirk, widow of the late activist and Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk, on the final day of the organization’s four-day AmericaFest in Phoenix, Arizona, on Sunday.
During the conversation, Minaj told Kirk that she had “the utmost respect and admiration” for President Donald Trump and said, “I don’t know if he even knows it, but he’s given a lot of people hope.”

While Minaj’s reps did not immediately respond to News’s questions about her Instagram departure, the rap diva addressed the backlash over her newfound support for the president while speaking with Kirk.
When asked how she felt about the political reactions of people within her industry, the “Super Bass” rapper simply said, “I didn’t realize.”
Minaj, better known for her feuds with fellow music makers like Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion and Taylor Swift than her politics, began publicly revealing her allegiance to Trump in November when she shared a video from the White House’s official TikTok praising his anti-trans and anti-immigration policies, which included her song “Va Va Voom” as an endorsement.
She officially aligned herself with the president after he promised to protect Christians in Nigeria from “mass slaughter” by “Islamic terrorists,” and later spoke on this issue on behalf of his administration at a United Nations event on November 18.

The Nigerian government has disputed allegations of targeted religious persecution, saying armed jihadists have been waging a campaign of violence against people across the West African nation, regardless of their origin or belief.
Minaj hasn’t always had good things to say about the president. During a 2020 interview, she said her first-term policy of separating migrant children from their guardians did not make her eager to “jump on the Donald Trump bandwagon.”
“That’s what really caught my attention,” said the Trinidad-born star, who in 2018 said she was an “illegal immigrant” when she moved to the United States as a child. “That’s what made me say, ‘There’s something about this that doesn’t sit right with me in my spirit.’”
