Nicki Minaj uses exactly the wrong word on stage with Erika Kirk

Nicki Minaj suffered an inappropriate gaffe while appearing as a surprise guest during a Q&A at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest in Arizona on Sunday alongside Erika Kirk.

The awkward moment occurred after Kirk asked Minaj (who has increasingly supported the Trump administration online in recent months) to share a message with young people in the audience.

In response, the “Everybody” musician took aim at California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) while warning young people not to be like “Newscum,” a reference to the insulting nickname President Donald Trump gave the governor.

“Young people, you have incredible role models, like our handsome, handsome president,” Minaj said. “And you have incredible role models like the assassin JD Vance, our vice president.”

Minaj, born Onika Tanya Maraj, soon realized she had made a major faux pas by mentioning the word “murderer” in front of Erika Kirk, the wife of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Erika Kirk took over as president and CEO of Turning Point USA following the murder of her husband in September.

Appearing to reflect on her mistake, Minaj paused and bowed her head down before covering her mouth with her hand as some people in the crowd laughed.

Kirk seemed not to be offended by Minaj’s words and told her with a smile, “Believe me, there’s nothing new under the sun that I haven’t heard. So you’re fine.”

To console Minaj for her mistake, Kirk told her, “I love you,” before telling the crowd, “You guys have to laugh at that. Seriously, I’ve been called everything, and you know what, God is so good that they let it roll off their backs.”

“If the Internet wants to cut [this moment]Who cares. I love this woman,” he added of Minaj. “She’s an incredible woman…words are words, but I know her heart. “It doesn’t even matter.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Minaj hurled additional insults at Newsom amid her ongoing feud with the politician. He read some of her scathing tweets about him, including one in which he criticized the governor’s stance on trans children.

The 12-time Grammy nominee then directly delivered a message to Newsom from the stage.

“Dear Newscum, we have no problem cleaning up the scum if necessary. Please tread carefully. That’s what I would say to Gavy-pooh,” he said.

Minaj also praised the Trump administration, telling Kirk that she has “the utmost respect and admiration for our president.”

“He’s given a lot of people hope that there is a chance to beat the bad guys and win, and do it with your head held high and your integrity intact,” he said of Trump.

He also stated that the Trump administration is “full of people with heart and soul.”

Minaj’s invitation to Turning Point USA comes as she appears to have joined forces with the Trump administration. Last month, the songwriter praised Trump in an X post for speaking out about the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. His post came after Trump called “mass killing” in Nigeria an “existential threat” in an Oct. 31 Truth Social post.

Minaj later called for an end to the persecution of Christians in Nigeria at a United Nations event on November 18.

Earlier this month, Vice President JD Vance seemingly sided with Minaj over Cardi B amid the rappers’ ongoing feud.

“Nicki > Cardi,” Vance wrote in a Dec. 10 X post in response to Minaj’s now-deleted post.

While it’s unclear what Minaj’s original post said, screenshots have surfaced on social media indicating she wrote “Rants” data-vars-item-type=”text” data-vars-unit-name=”69483fe7e4b0dd220fa0dcb2″ data-vars-unit-type=”buzz_body” data-vars-target-content-id=”https://x.com/AkademiksTV/status/1998974392735510599″ data-vars-target-content-type=”url” data-vars-type=”web_external_link” data-vars-subunit-name=”article_body” data-vars-subunit-type=”component” data-vars-position-in-subunit=”10″>Vance > Rants.” It is unknown what prompted Minaj’s original tweet or why she deleted it.

Minaj’s representatives did not immediately respond to News themezone’s request for comment.
