Nikki Glaser Smashes CBS News in Gripping Golden Globes Opening
Nikki Glaser mocked News for its controversial decision to shelve a “60 Minutes” investigation while appearing on the same network.
During a scathing opening monologue at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, the comedian criticized the network for abruptly closing an investigation into abuses at the notorious Salvadoran prison to which hundreds of Venezuelan men were illegally deported last year.
First joking about how President Donald Trump’s Justice Department deserved the best editing honor for its extensive redactions of Jeffrey Epstein-related documents released to the public last month, Glaser then dug into News’s credibility.

“The award for greatest editing goes to News,” he smiled. “Yes. News: America’s Newest Place to ‘Watch BS News'”.
Newly appointed News chief Bari Weiss has been criticized for ordering the network to make the “60 Minutes” episode, which she said was not “ready” to air without stating the perspective of Trump administration officials.
The “60 Minutes” journalist who reported on the article, Sharyn Alfonsi, responded by accusing Weiss of putting off the story for political reasons, pointing out how White House officials declined requests to respond to the allegations contained in the article.
“If the administration’s refusal to participate becomes a valid reason to publish a story, we have effectively given them an ‘off switch’ for any reporting they deem inconvenient.”
