Ole Miss Football Player, 18, dies in Tennessee’s shooting, authorities say

Corey Adams, a first -year student with the Ole Miss Rebels football team, was killed in a Tennessee shooting on Saturday night, authorities said. I was 18 years old.

Shelby County Sheriff’s office said the incident occurred in Cordova, which is east of Memphis. The authorities said the deputies who responded discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound and provided “life salvation measures” until the fire department arrived.

The victim was pronounced later dead on the scene. Adams was then identified as the victim.

The authorities said the agents found multiple caps in the place and then learned that four other shooting victims were recorded in the hospitals in the area. They were listed in non -critical conditions.

Ole Miss then issued a statement about Adams’s death.

“We are devastated to know that Corey Adams, a first -year student in the team, died last night in Cordova, Tennessee,” said the school. “While our program is trying to deal with this tragic loss, our thoughts are with their loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

“Out of respect for his family, we will not comment at this time. We ask the Ole Miss community to keep Corey in his thoughts and respect the privacy of all involved.”

Adams was an outstanding high school soccer player in Edna Karar in New Orleans. The defensive line was qualified as a three -star recruitment prospect. It was a selection of twice throughout the first team.

He had 51 cup and 12 catches during his third year of high school.
