Olympic athlete asks people to stop harassing her after Victory
Suni Lee is asking critics to “stop bullying her” after an appearance at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Week show last week.
The Olympic gold medalist walked the runway during the brand’s revamped fashion show on Thursday, joining fellow athlete Angel Reese and storied VS Angels such as Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel and Adriana Lima.
Lee said she faced backlash after her appearance, as she posted a TikTok with the caption “Can you please stop bullying me?” during the weekend.
The short clip showed Lee singing Ariana Grande’s song “Successful” in front of the mirror. Although Lee didn’t directly address why she was being harassed, she did respond to a revealing comment.

“Girl I’ve got your back. Why do people harass you because of your height like you can’t control that bro?,” one commenter wrote.
Lee, who is 5′0″, responded, “Literally.”
The former Auburn gymnast also liked some of the messages of support she received and wrote a message for her fans in the comments of the post.
“I love you all😭🥹 my girls🤍🤍,” she said.
In an interview with Marie Claire before the show, Lee talked about her excitement (and nerves) about appearing on the runway in the first place.
“Walking into something like the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was like a dream out of my comfort zone,” Lee told the outlet. “But that’s exactly why I said yes.”

“Growing up, I didn’t see many girls who looked like me in spaces like this. To be here now as an athlete, as someone who has worked so hard to achieve her dreams, feels powerful,” she added. “I want young women to know that they don’t have to fit into one category. You can chase Olympic gold and still own your femininity.”
Bella Hadid, who also walked in the Victoria’s Secret show last week, also faced criticism for her runway appearance, but for a completely different reason.
Some detractors criticized the model’s walk, though Hadid made sure to enlighten people on her Instagram Story about the “why” behind why she might have seemed a little wobbly in one of her looks.

“Okay, let’s not pretend these wings don’t weigh 50 pounds, but SO BEAUTIFUL,” Hadid wrote on her Instagram Story at the time.
