Now, there are rumors in the social networks of patients and doctors who suggest that weight loss medications could be related to caries and gum problems such as irritation and bleeding.

Ozempic teeth, like Ozempic Face, is a term coined online to describe a characteristic that some believe that it could be related to the use of weight loss and diabetes medications.

“Patients have reported the dry mouth while they are in Ozempic in both dental practices in which I work,” said Dr. Ricky Marshall, owner of Stratland Dental in Glendale, Arizona, and dentist of Wolff Family Dentistry & Orthodontics in Queen Creek, Arizona, News Digital.
While Ozempic itself may not be causing augmented tooth decay, side effects such as dry mouth are “probably the main cause” of some of the dental problems, according to Marshall.

In addition, he said, it is reported that Ozempic increases stomach acid because the medicine works when digestion.

Treating side effects
Antacids are a solution to acid reflux, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
