Pete Buttigieg responds after Kamala Harris admits why he was transmitted as vice president

The former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg has responded to the comments of former Vice President Kamala Harris, who admitted in his next memories that he was his first option as a formula partner for the 2024 elections, but was not selected since he is Gay.

Harris, who finally chose the governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz (D) as his vice presidential candidate, revealed in an extract published on Wednesday of “107 days” that Buttigieg headed his short list of eight people and “would have been an ideal partner, if he were a heterosexual white man.”

“But we were already asking for a lot of America: accepting a woman, a black woman, a black woman married to a Jewish man,” Harris added, according to the Atlantic. “Part of me wanted to say Fuck him, let’s do it. But knowing what was at stake, it was too big risk. ”

She continued: “And I think Pete also knew, our mutual sadness.”

Buttigieg responded to confession on Thursday before a film cutting ceremony at the headquarters of the Monroe County Democratic Party in Bloomington, Indiana. He said that the concerns about their sexual orientation “were not something we had talked about,” according to Politico.

“My experience in politics has been that the way he gains confidence with voters is mainly based on what they think he will do for their lives, not categories,” Buttigieg continued, who said he was “surprised” to read that particular passage.

“You just have to go to voters with what you think you can do for them,” he said Thursday. “Politics are the results we can obtain for people and not about these other things.”

According to reports, Buttigieg added that he believes in “giving the most credit Americans” in how they make voting decisions. Harris had only months to win voters as a Democratic candidate after then President Joe Biden left the race and backed it in July 2024.
