Phil Robertson, star of the duck dynasty that spread homophobic hatred, dead at 79
The patriarch of the “Duck dynasty”, Phil Robertson, died at the age of 79.
Multiple family members announced the death of the star of reality on social networks on Sunday, five months after public people had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
The cause of death is unknown.

The show that made Robertson’s name work in A & e for 11 seasons from 2012 to 2017. He followed his family and his hunting and recreation business of Louisiana, Duck Commander.
Robertson, however, generated an equal amount of headlines for anti-gay rhetoric. He was briefly suspended from the program after giving an interview to GQ magazine in which he described the “homosexual behavior” as a sin.
While supporting Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in the 2016 presidential elections, Robertson said that same-sex marriage is typical of “depravation” that takes care of the United States.
“Is redefining marriage and telling us that marriage is not between a man and a woman? Come on, Iowa makes no sense,” Robertson told a campaign manifestation for Cruz. “It’s evil! It’s evil! It’s sinful.”
Robertson supported Trump in the 2020 and 2024 elections and appeared on stage with the then president in 2019.

Cruz, who cut a campaign ad with Robertson, directed right -wing tributes, calling him “unique”, an “American” and “intrepid when he tells the truth.”
