Singer-songwriter Graham Nash criticized President Donald Trump for trying to “throw us into oblivion” with his attack on Iran.

The two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee (for Crosby, Stills & Nash and The Hollies) wrote on Instagram that “it blows my mind” to be “pushed into a war… by a man with multiple deferrals so he doesn’t have to fight himself and risk his own life as he will now ask many others to do.”

“It makes me sick,” Nash added.

Trump received four draft deferments during the Vietnam War to attend college and a fifth for bone spurs in his heels. Years later, he told radio host Howard Stern that avoiding sexually transmitted diseases was “my personal Vietnam.”

Nash, who became a U.S. citizen in 1978, did not mention Trump by name in his social media post. But it was pretty clear who he was talking about in his message on Friday, which was posted as the United States and Israel continued their attacks on Iran.

Nash, perhaps best known for “Our House” and “Teach Your Children” but also performed the protest anthem “Ohio” as part of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, wrote:

“In the end, he’s just another petty, greedy, racist, misogynistic, hateful, petty, dumb, power-hungry bully. And like all people like him throughout time, he starts battles that he himself will never have to finish, says and does things for which he will never have to be held accountable.”

“He doesn’t care about anyone except himself. The best thing we can do is be the complete opposite of him and all the people like him,” Nash added. “Keep backing away. None of this is normal.”
