Randy Rainbow
If someone can write a book for children about being yourself in these times Trumpian, it is Randy Rainbow.
The comedian nominated for Emmy and Grammy, whose musical parodies of YouTube President Donald Trump and his cronies entertain millions, now tells him a simpler and more sweet story about his young self for the children.
It is called “Randy Rainbow and the wonderfully magical pink glasses”, and covers the children’s experience of being different and possessing it with the help of his grandmother.
Rainbow pointed out that the young Randy does not come out as gay in the book (although he is open to that possibility in a sequel). But the author still took into account in potential censorship amid the Trump administration attacks against diversity, equity and inclusion.
“I know that this will be at the top of each forbidden list, and I will not be glad of that, it is a sad state of affairs, but I am very proud to contribute something like this at this time for that reason,” Rainbow told News recently. “Self -expression, expressive freedom, is so under attack now, so I mean, I only think that any opportunity we have to give that message that it is fine, not only is it right, it’s great.”

While Trump often speaks of taking revenge on his many perceived enemies, including artists, Rainbow said he has not been directly attacked.
“Never,” he said. “I am devastated in saying that I could use advertising, but it has never blocked me on any platform.”
Rainbow acknowledged that he “gets many trolls” on social networks, but said: “No I, I do not touch the wood, receives both hate email and you think.”
“I think it has to do with the nature of the content … I published,” he continued. “Although he is talking about polarization problems, and I am clearly a stubborn person who shares that opinion … I try to be a spoonful of sugar, so to speak. And the people who will come to a parody [of] A song by “Mary Poppins”, that’s not really a criticism that I care too seriously anyway. “

Rainbow, however, the recession reported in corporate advertising for the month of pride in June is being taken seriously. Companies seem to be moving away from the annual festivities while Trump and their allies increase Anti-Trans messages and even try to erase gay history.
“It is terribly disappointing, but everything is reduced to the almighty dollar, and it is simply disappointing to see how many Johnny-asbests are there,” Rainbow said. “We need real allies, not these, you know, just climate bitches.”
