The Rays Campocorto de Tampa Bay, Wander Franco, who is already in trial for accusations of sexual abuse of a minor, was beaten with an illegal possession of a gun position on Sunday, prosecutors of the Dominican Republic said.

The position arose from an arrest on November 10 after Franco was in an altercation in a parking lot in San Juan de la Maguana, said the Office of the Dominican Public Prosecutor. No one was injured in the incident, but the authorities said a semi -automatic 19 19th glock was found in Franco’s vehicle.

Prosecutors said the gun was registered under Franco’s uncle. Franco’s lawyer, Antonio García Lorenzo, said that because the weapon was licensed, “there is nothing illegal about it.”

The authorities requested that Franco be tried by the position of weapons.

Franco, 24, is in the middle of a trial for accusations of sexual abuse. The crime allegedly involved a girl who was 14 years old at that time. Franco was accused of sexual abuse of a minor, sexual and commercial exploitation against a minor and people traffic.

One of Franco’s lawyers, Teodosio Jáquez, said he will ask the court to exempt his client for all positions.
