Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) called the Trump administration efforts to bleach American black history on social networks on Wednesday.

In a video published in his official X account, Crockett accused Trump’s aligned right to deliberately obscure the history of racial injustice of the country.

“It seems that there are certain people specifically on that side that every time we want to discuss what has happened in terms of black people and how they took the job, how they took their lives, how they ruined families, they never want the truth to come out because their feelings hurts,” he said.

Crockett’s comments were in response to President Donald Trump’s latest criticism to the Smithsonian institution for, as he said, focusing too much on “how bad slavery was.” In a Tuesday publication about Truth Social, Trump described Smithsonian “the last remaining Woke” in the United States.

Texas’s congressman argued that some are uncomfortable to confront the realities of racism, and connected this to “these racist maps” that currently circulate through the state of Texas.

“They are always upset when you call them for what they are,” he continued. “But the reality is that we really need to start telling more truth if we are really going to get to real power and if we do not recognize the complete story, then we are condemned to repeat it.”

She continued saying that Trump “is a guy who is trying to do everything he can to repeat it.”

Crockett emphasized that the United States is living what it called a “struggle of modern civil rights”, pointing out the historical efforts of voting rights led by Texans, including the signing of the Voting Rights Law, as well as the dangers of current attempts to limit access to vote.

“The fight in which there was a Texan who signed the Voting Rights Law due to these literacy tests and by Jim Crow,” he said.

The congresswoman later pointed out Trump’s recent attacks against the vote rights of Americans in regards to the tickets by mail. On Tuesday, News said Trump was “willing to use the vast powers of his office to prevent his party from losing control of the congress in the middle of the period of next year.”

She continued saying that there have been multiple cases in which racism was used to “eliminate” the history of black Americans and marked the beginning of a scream of rally that this will not be the case.

“Regardless of what [Trump] We will make sure that we are investing in sharing our history, our true story, our real stories because there have been many times in this country where they wanted to eliminate us, where they wanted to kill us. But blacks are survivors. We are the ones who make sure to cross the underground railroad. We are the ones who ensure that we somehow go from slavery to the White House, ”he said.

She ended with a statement: “We will tell our stories regardless of what [Trump] does.”
