Republican of the House of Representatives so that Pete Hegseth is fired in bold movement opposing Trump
Representative Don Bacon (R-Neb.) Suggested on Monday that Pete Hegseth should be fired as Secretary of Defense, according to reports, becoming the first member of the Republican Party to advocate for his dismissal.
NPR wrote on Monday that the White House was already looking for a replacement after it was reported that Hegseth again shared information classified with strangers about an imminent military attack in Yemen. The group’s chat, supposedly the second in the signal that violated the security protocol, included Hegseth’s wife, brother and lawyer.
“If the reports are true, the Secretary of Defense has failed in operational security, and that is unacceptable,” Bacon told Axios. “If a Democrat did this, we would be demanding a scalp. We should be American first when it comes to security.”
Bacon’s statement would seem to disagree with President Donald Trump, who previously dismissed the concerns and the report of the Second Information Session of Hegseth signal.
“He’s doing a great job. They are just false news,” Trump said.
The White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, called the NPR report of anonymous origin “Total false news.”
But Bacon, a member of the Armed Services Committee of the House of Representatives, seemed directly to urge Trump to power in a separate interview with politician.
“I am not in the White House, and I am not going to tell the White House how to handle this … but it seems unacceptable, and I would not tolerate it if it were in charge,” Bacon said.
