The two children of Robin Wright and Sean Penn are now grown, but the “House of Cards” star reflects on an important repentance that has to raise them.

“I have great regret as a mother and I have experienced the consequences of this regret for many years with my children, I was not quite difficult with them,” Wright said in a new interview with The Sunday Times.

Wright, who was married to Penn from 1996 to 2010, said that his former Oscar winner was harder for children, “but most of the time had gone.”

“I would come back and be the policeman and then left me with the waste,” Wright shared. “Then it would soften the blow. We were both ends. They did not understand that gray area in the middle, which is severe, and that is what they needed.”

The two actors share a 34 -year -old daughter, Dylan, and a son named Hopper, 32.

Wright shared that Dylan was a rebel, while Hopper has been open about dealing with a glass methamphetamine addiction.

“Every day, if the phone rings, are you, ‘Is he alive?” I went through that for so many years with both. ”

She said her two children are “in a really good place at this time.”

Penn has previously opened on the differences that he and Wright found during their rising rise.

“We have very separate relationships with our children at this time and it seems to work better that way because they are making their own decisions,” said the actor of the “MiSTIC River” during an appearance in the “WTF” podcast of Maron’s WTF “in 2018.
