Head of Dead Russian Chemical Weapons in Explosion
Hague – Two Dutch intelligence agencies said on Friday that Russia is increasing the use of Chemical weapons in Ukraineincluding world -war poison chloropicrine.
The military intelligence of the Netherlands and the security service, together with the German intelligence service, discovered that the use of prohibited chemical weapons by the Russian army had become “standardized and common” in Ukraine.
According to the findings, the Russian army uses chloropicrine and CS disturbance control agent against the Ukrainian soldiers’ refuge, which are then forced to leave and shoot.
Dutch defense minister Ruben Brekelmans requested more sanctions against Moscow and the continuous military support for Kyiv.
Brekelmans, who stayed in a caretaker role after the Dutch government collapsed last month, said he does not want the use of chemical weapons to be normalized.
He said on social networks: “The drones are dropping chemical chloropicrine in the trenches, move away and then kill Ukrainian soldiers.”
Brekelmans said that with the use of large -scale chemical weapons, Russia showed again “his evil face.”
Lowering the threshold for use “is not only dangerous for Ukraine, but also for the rest of Europe and the world,” he said in a statement.
Russia has registered in the Convention of Chemical Weapons, which prohibits the use of chloropopicrine and CS as weapons. The guardian dog of the Convention, the organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons or OPCW, has found several incidents in Ukraine that involve CS, but the group has not conducted a complete investigation, which member states must request.
The OPCW Executive Committee celebrates a regular meeting next week, where the conflict in Ukraine is expected to discuss. The Russian authorities did not immediately comment on the findings, but have denied the use of chemical weapons in the past, but claiming that Ukraine has used prohibited substances. According to Ukraine, Russia has carried out 9,000 chemical weapons attacks in the country since the beginning of large -scale invasion in 2022.
In December, the head of the Biological and Chemical Weapons Unit of the Russian Army, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, He was killed throughout with his deputy during an explosion in Moscow. At that time, an informed source in the Ukraine security service told News themezone: “Kirillov was a war criminal and an absolutely legitimate objective, since it gave orders to use prohibited chemical weapons against the Ukrainian army.”
In 2024, the United States Department of State said it had registered the use of chloropicrine against Ukrainian troops.
