Ryan Lochte speaks after ex -wife makes a demand for impressive drug use

Ryan Lochte is responding to his ex -wife’s claims that he used drugs in front of his three children.

Kayla Lochte accused former Olympic swimmer of inhaling nitrous oxide in front of her children, according to a weekly report of US published on Tuesday.

The former partner shares three children together: Caiden, 8, Liv, 6 and Georgia, 2.

In judicial documents seen by Us Weekly, Kayla Lockte argues that “the shared responsibility of the parents would be harmful to children because [Ryan] It has a history of substance abuse and, with information and belief, it is still abusing illegal controlled substances. ”

The documents also claim that the Olympic left empty cocaine bags around his family’s house, even in his children’s rooms, and that he had taken his children to school while he was intoxicated.

Ryan Lochte denied the accusations in a statement also shared with Us Weekly.

“I am not denying that I used drugs in my house, but I have never used drugs in front of my children or around my children, and I have never driven them in drunk,” said the 41 -year -old man to The Outlet.

“I have desperately tried to maintain these private and sealed divorce procedures, not to protect myself, but to protect my children from manufactured accusations that could damage them,” he said. “Unfortunately, despite that effort, my ex -wife chose to make this matter public, knowing that I was already in intensive rehabilitation.”

Lochte said that he is now focused on his recovery and “advance in a way that keeps my children safe, supported and loved.”

The locks announced that they were being divided in June after marrying in 2018.

Only a few days ago, Lochte described to overcome a “dark place” in his life and get out of the other side, describing his trip with depression and substance abuse and saying that he is now much better.

“I wanted to share some positive updates in my life and what is happening,” Lochte shared with the followers in a video on his Instagram account published last week. “I am very happy right now. And the great reason is that I’m 54 sober days. Yes!”

The athlete spoke about breaking his leg in a car accident in 2023 and learning to walk again.

He said that “it fell into a really dark place” and that a combination of depression and loneliness made him feel “as if he were renouncing life”, which “took me on a path of substance abuse.”

“With everything that happens in my life, I needed to make a change, a drastic change,” he said, adding that he looked for a recovery center to help him solve his problems with substances.

“The staff there has been incredible. They helped me realize that substance abuse is not a solution, it is only a distraction that worsens things,” he shared.

Lochte said he is now “thinking clearly” and “advancing.”

“I’m improving every day,” he added. “If someone out there is fighting, please know that you are not alone in this.”
