Sarah Paulson struggles to speak when asked about Diane Keaton’s death
Sarah Paulson fought back tears after being asked about her “dear friend,” the late Diane Keaton.
While attending the premiere of her new Hulu series, “All’s Fair,” on Friday, Paulson was asked to talk about Keaton’s death, a topic she was not emotionally prepared to discuss.
“She was a very dear friend of mine, so it’s not something I can talk about yet,” Paulson said in an Access Hollywood video.
He then praises Keaton, who died on October 11 of pneumonia, and the friendship they shared.
“All I can say, and I’ve been saying tonight, which is important for me to communicate, is that what you thought she was as a performer: she was more spectacular as a human being,” he continued.

“I was the luckiest person in the world to have had her in my life the way I had her,” Paulson said, apparently trying to keep from crying.
In the wake of Keaton’s death, many actors shared their fondest memories of the beloved star, including his former “The First Wives Club” co-star, Bette Midler. The pair, who appeared alongside Goldie Hawn in the 1996 film, shared a connection that Midler “adored,” recalling how filming with Keaton left her “crying with laughter.”
“We had a lot on that show,” Midler added. “I think it was the most fun I’ve ever had.”
