See the best outfits for the 2026 Winter Games Olympic opening ceremony

As the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games get underway, all eyes are on the teams around the world who will proudly wear their countries’ uniforms for the opening ceremony on Friday, including united states team with suits designed by Ralph Lauren.

It is an exciting moment for the thousands of athletes who have gathered in northern Italy to participate in the first Olympic Games shared between two host cities of what will be the largest Winter Games in history.

The Winter Olympics will run through Feb. 22 and feature 116 medal events, including ski mountaineering in its Olympic debut. The Paralympic Games will take place from March 6 to 15.

As the Games begin, here are some of the outfits from the Olympic opening ceremony.

Team USA 2026 Olympic Opening Ceremony Outfits

Ralph Lauren has designed suits for Team USA for 10 consecutive Olympic Games and dressing the nation’s athletes for nearly 20 years is an “honor that never fades,” says David Lauren, chief brand and innovation officer for Ralph Lauren Corporation.

The opening ceremony uniform includes a winter white wool coat with heritage-inspired wooden buttons, wool pants and an iconic American flag intarsia wool sweater, says Ralph Lauren. The look includes a red, white, and blue intarsia knit hat and gloves, a leather belt, and suede alpine boots with red laces.

“Our design philosophy has always been to create dreams and tell stories through style, and these uniforms, both timeless and modern, reflect the passion, optimism and relentless pursuit of excellence that embodies the American spirit,” Lauren said in a press release. “With Milan, one of fashion’s great capitals, as our backdrop this year, we seek to honor the city’s creative spirit while staying true to the enduring style that defines Ralph Lauren.”

According to the company, “every uniform item is proudly made in the United States.”

The 2026 Winter Olympics mark the third Games in which Lululemon has designed Team Canada’s uniforms. The Vancouver-based sports apparel company designed this year’s uniforms “with a deeper focus on innovation and inclusivity, while offering functionality and style,” says CEO Calvin McDonald, who called the uniforms “a technically superior set.”

The sets include maple leaf designs and a topographic map print, as well as colors ranging from deep red to “iceberg-inspired” greens and blues, Lululemon says.

“As a country that thrives in the cold, the Winter Games are particularly special for Canadians, and all of us at lululemon are incredibly proud to support Team Canada on the world’s biggest sporting stage with products designed for athletes and with athletes,” McDonald said in a press release.

Clothing for the Mexico 2026 Olympic opening ceremony

Charly has dressed the Mexican team in uniforms that, according to the Mexican Olympic Committee, are “a symbol of hard work, passion and Olympic commitment.”

This year, Claudia Sheinbaum became the first Mexican president to lead the flag ceremony for the country’s delegation to the Winter Games, the committee said.

Outfits for the opening ceremony of the Great Britain 2026 Olympic Games

Ben Sherman designed Team GB’s uniforms for the fourth consecutive Olympic Games, including a collaboration with five-time Olympic medalist Tom Daley to create hand-knitted scarves and hats for flag bearers at the opening and closing ceremonies.

The designs were inspired by the Dolomite mountains and bold pattern illustrations, says Ben Sherman, and incorporate traditional checks and Fair Isle knitwear.

The Opening Ceremony ensemble includes a houndstooth wool coat, a turtleneck sweater with embossed stripe details and a repeat Union Flag motif, and track pants, as well as a scarf, hat and Vibram-soled winter boots.

Outfits for the opening ceremony of the Italian 2026 Olympic Games

The Italy team wears suits designed by EA7 Emporio Armani. The brand’s partnership with the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) and the Italian Paralympic Committee (CIP) began with the London Games in 2012, CONI says.

The late Giorgio Armani, who died in septemberrevealed the uniforms in May and said at the time: “I couldn’t imagine a more stimulating collaboration, uniting the city that has given me so much and sport. Working for and alongside Italian athletes is always a pleasure and a great source of pride.”

The sets include a down jacket, thermal ski jacket and pants, all in milky white, as well as an oversized bomber jacket with an “Italy” print, among other garments and accessories.

Outfits for the opening ceremony of the Mongolian Olympic Games 2026

The Mongolian team wears ceremonial costumes designed by Goyol Cashmere for the opening ceremony, which it says “proudly presents to the world sporting stage the resilience, wisdom and warrior spirit forged over thousands of years by the Mongolians who have endured the eternal winters of the Central Asian highlands.”

The designs are inspired by the clothing of the Great Mongol Empire from the 13th to 15th centuries. They are made from the finest Mongolian cashmere, finished with silk trim and embroidered with traditional horn motifs, Goyol and the Mongolian National Olympic Committee said in a joint Instagram post.

“Using cashmere from Mongolia, which our nomadic people have long relied on to withstand harsh winters, we have created ceremonial garments that honor traditional history and culture, along with premium cashmere knit casual ensembles inspired by alpine ski sweaters rooted in Western mountain culture, enriched with motifs of the Mongolian ger and nomadic life,” the post reads.

The German team’s clothing was designed by Adidas.

“Our ambition was to create kits that not only help athletes meet the challenges of winter sports but also capture what makes the Games so special,” said Jacqueline King, director of design at Adidas.

Team Brazil 2026 Olympic Opening Ceremony Outfits

Team Brazil wore Moncler outfits designed in collaboration with Brazilian designer Oskar Metsavaht.

Metsavaht’s “personal experience in winter sports merges seamlessly with Brazil’s creative spirit and Moncler’s mountain DNA,” says Moncler, adding: “This moment marks a decisive peak in the brand’s continuing evolution, a return to the top of winter sports for the first time since Moncler outfitted the triumphant French ski team in Grenoble in 1968.”
