Shohei Ohtani absent from the dodgers for the birth of the first child
Shohei Ohtani is about to be dad.
The bidirectional superstar of the Los Angeles Dodgers was far from the team for the birth of his first child on Friday.
The manager of the Dodgers, Dave Roberts, said that Ohtani was with his wife and on the MLB paternity list before the opening of the Dodgers series on Friday night against the Texas Rangers.

“He and Mamiko wait at some point. That’s all I know,” Roberts said. “I don’t know when he will return, and I don’t know when the baby will have, but they are obviously together in advance.”

Ohtani, 30, published on his Instagram account at the end of December that he and his 28 -year -old wife, a former professional basketball player of his native Japan, expected a baby in 2025.
“I can’t wait for the little rookie to join our family soon!” The December 28 position said. It included a photo that showed the dear dog of the couple, a lure and a pink monkey with flyers along with baby shoes and an ecogram covered by a baby emoji.

Ohtani can lose up to three games while in Paternity Leave. Dodgers have a series of three games in Texas before a day off on Monday. They play in the Chicago puppies on Tuesday.
