Could the virus transmitted by mosquitoes in China spread to the United States?

News senior medical analyst, Dr. Marc Siegel, shares his perspective on whether the virus transmitted by mosquitoes in China will spread to the United States and how AI can be harmful to the mental health of young children and young adults in the ‘News report’.

A little -known disease is spreading in the United States, mainly in the state of California, health officials warn.

In a new study published in emerging infectious diseases of CDC magazine, researchers claim that human cases of Chagas disease have been confirmed in eight states, which leads them to recommend that the disease be classified as “endemic.”

“Recognizing the endemicity of Chagas disease in the United States is crucial to achieve global health objectives,” the authors wrote.

Centers for disease control and prevention define a disease as “endemic” when there is a “constant and/or usual prevalence” in a population within a specific geographical area, in other words, the level of “basal” disease within a community.

“Chagas disease (or American tripanosomiasis) is already endemic in South America and Central America, but now it has spread south of the USA. UU., Where it is strengthened between insects and animals,” said News senior medical analyst, Dr. Marc Siegel, News Digital.

What is Chagas’s disease?

Chagas disease is a parasitic disease spread by triathomine bugs, also known as “kisses bugs,” according to CDC.

The disease is transmitted when the stool of the insects infected with the parasite of T. Cruzi enter the body of a person, typically through a bite wound or contact with the eyes or mouth.

“When the kissing error takes a blood meal, it will eventually default and leave the feces somewhere,” Digital’s News, the author of the main study, the author of the main study, assistant professor of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Florida.

“Sometimes it can ‘defecate’ in our skin or mucous membrane while feeding, and then the parasite enters that site. The stools of error can also end inside or near a house and then be ingested or rubbed into the skin or mucous membrane.”

“Chagas can cause fever, fatigue, eruption, body pain and swelling of lymph nodes, and can then cause digestive problems, heart problems and neurological participation,” said a doctor. (Istock)

The transmission in the USA can also occur due to congenital infection, where an infected mother can transmit the parasite to a fetus, or from the organ transplant, according to Beatty.

Signs and symptoms

The first stage of Chagas disease, called acute phase, occurs shortly after infection. It is followed by the chronic long -term phase, according to CDC.

The disease does not always cause disease, but some people may experience symptoms.

“Chagas can cause fever, fatigue, eruption, body pain and swelling of lymph nodes, and can then cause digestive problems, heart problems and neurological participation,” Siegel warned.

“What really matters is whether or not the error of kisses has been found invading houses and houses the parasite.”

Another distinctive seal of the disease is the swelling of the eyelids, also known as the Romaña sign.

In the chronic phase, around 20% to 30% of people with infection may experience potentially fatal heart problems or serious digestive problems, according to CDC.

PREVALENCE OF THE DISEASE

Approximately 300,000 people live with Chagas disease that acquired infection in Latin America and the United States, according to Beatty.

“However, the exact number is unknown: a national prevalence study has never been carried out,” Digital’s News told News.

It is more likely that the disease occurs in the states where the kissing error is close to where people live, which includes parts of California, Arizona, Texas, Louisiana and Florida, according to the expert.

“What really matters is whether the error of kisses has been found invading houses and houses the parasite that causes Chagas disease in a particular region,” he said, adding that researchers are “simply by bowing the iceberg” with its understanding of the disease acquired locally in the United States.

Laboratory detection tests and treatments are easily available, said the researcher, but doctors do not know to a large extent that the disease is being transmitted. (Istock)

“Unfortunately, most United States ignores this ‘silent murderer’ and the fact that an error extends,” he said.

“Our first steps are to recognize that this is an endemic infectious disease, based on an improved education between public suppliers and medical care, and assign funds for research and programs to support tests and additional monitoring.”

The expert refers to Chagas as a “neglected tropical disease.”

“Our hope as a team that Chagas investigates here in the US. UU. It is that we contribute awareness about the fact that this infectious disease is transmitted here and can be deadly,” he told News Digital. “More research and resources are needed so that we can help mitigate the transmission to communities at risk, especially those that live in rural and agricultural sectors.”

Detection and treatments

In most circumstances, Beatty said, people are bitten by the insect in their bed or home.

“From there, a person will communicate with an image of that error, and we begin the process of trial and education on how to prevent the insect from getting into the home and dissuades to want to be close to a human home.”

Laboratory detection tests and treatments are easily available, Beatty said, but doctors do not know how much the disease is transmitted in certain communities.

There are two antiparasitic drugs approved for the treatment of Chagas disease in the US. – Benznidazol and Lampit (Nifurtimox).

“Currently, a clinical trial is being carried out to evaluate a new agent for the treatment of Chagas in certain centers in the United States and Latin America,” said Beatty.

There are currently no vaccines available to prevent disease.

It can be a challenge for patients in rural America to find a supplier that understands this disease, Beatty said.

“In my clinic, people have traveled from other states to see me in Florida just because they have no one closer to them willing to take care of them,” said the researcher.

“It is essential that we begin to educate our future doctors about Chagas’s disease and the ways of trying, treating and administering the infected.”

Beatty also shared some tips to avoid kissing insects entering the house.

That includes eliminating the “ports” of nesting animals near a house where rodents would reside, such as wood or disorder batteries.

Seal door jambas, windows stamps and other entrance points, as well as placing screens on windows and doors, can also be effective.

Beatty also recommends the “judicial use” of potential input points of residual pesticide, such as doors and perimeter jambs.
