The sovereignty took home of Kentucky Derby on Saturday in Louisville.
There was a start of potholes inside, with the citizen bull of Bob Baffert in early lead and journalism, the favorite of the morning line, not close to the top.
Journalism found problems in the first turn, and the rider Umberto Rispoli transferred him abroad. He and sovereignty found themselves in the eighth pole before the sovereignty and Jockey Alvarado Junior moved away.

The sovereignty actually followed most of the race and did not make a great movement until near the final shift.
In the final stretch, Neoequos, with 42-1, was at the top, but sovereignty and journalism advanced to the front.
After running the neck and neck, sovereignty beat the favorite. Journalism opened to 3-1 and closed to 7-2.
Sovereignty crossed the finish line at 2: 02.31. Baeza was Third, Final Gambit was fourth and Owen Almighty finished fifth.
It was the second victory of Kentucky Derby by coach Bill Mott. It also has a 2019 victory with Country House after maximum security was disqualified to deviate to the path of other horses.

It was a humid day in Churchill Downs, and fans filled the stands with ponchos in the rain.
On Saturday he marked Baffert’s return to the Rosas race after each of the three previous races lost due to a suspension of the 2021 derby winner, Medina Spirit, failed a drug test. The horse died in December.
According to The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Kentucky, every horse that directed the race is a descendant of the famous Ministry of Horses of careers.

The Secretariat begats more than 660 foals registered during their life. He won the derby with a time of 1: 59.40, a record that is still standing.
