After years of a very public fight to claim his first six albums, Taylor Swift announced Friday that he could finally buy them again.

“All the music I have made … now belongs … to me,” he wrote on his website. “And all my musical videos. All concert movies. The cover of the album and photography. Unpublished songs. Memories. Magic. Madness. Each era.”

The Swift catalog with its first record label, Big Machine Records, was sold for $ 300 million in 2019 to the investor Scooter Braun, who was linked to swift adversaries for a long time Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, now Ye. At that time, Swift called it “my worst case.” Braun’s Ithaca Holdings later sold the masters to Shamrock Capital, a private capital firm.

Fans have anxiously waiting for the news about the last two relevant since then, which leads to broad speculation about Tiktok, Reddit and elsewhere on the possible clues that the singer has left aim at a future release date.

The interest woke up at the beginning of 2025 when fans realized that Swift presented a brand renewal recorded by “reputation (Taylor version)” that gave him until August of this year to use that brand or lose the registered trademark. In his statement on Friday, Swift revealed that he has not even “re -recorded a quarter.”

“The reputation album was so specific to that moment of my life, and I kept reaching a stop point when I tried to rebuild it,” he said, promising that he would still launch the unpublished “vault” tracks of the album in the future.

In 2023, Swift described the album to Time magazine as “a Gothic moment of female anger by being gas throughout a social structure” and promised that unpublished clues would be “fire.”

Meanwhile, Swift said his homonymous debut is completely necessary.

“Those 2 albums can still have their moments to resurface, when it is the right time,” he wrote in Friday’s message, and then added: “But if it happens, it will not be a place of sadness and yearning for what I would like to have. Now it will be a celebration.”
