Teyana Taylor denounces haters who got angry because she applauded someone at the Oscars
Call it applause.
On Mondays, Teyana Taylor responded to all the “miserable” people online who criticized her for enthusiastically applauding Amy Madigan after she lost to her in the Oscars 2026.

The “One Battle After Another” star was seen several times during the ceremony physically displaying unbridled joy, leading some users to question her seemingly over-the-top behavior on X.
“What about Teyana?” said a user on X in response to a video in which Taylor enthusiastically hugs “One Battle” director Paul Thomas Anderson while accepting the Oscar for Best Picture. “This is like the third video in a row I’ve seen of her freaking out at the Oscars.”

Both Madigan and Taylor were nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Supporting Actress category on Sunday, and when Madigan won for her haunting performance as Aunt Gladys in “Weapons,” Taylor could be seen darting out of her seat to give the “Field of Dreams” alum a standing ovation.
“From the first hour I knew something was wrong” one user said about Taylor in response to a video of the moment on X.

The Grammy-nominated singer took issue with this particular criticism and decided to respond to it on X Monday.
“The world holds so much misery that miserable hearts forget the face of happiness,” Taylor wrote. “They’re comfortable being sore losers, so when they see real sportsmanship, it unsettles them! Like holy water touches a demon.”
He continued, “Because applauding someone else’s victory requires something many people never learned… how to win with grace and pure joy, and how to lose with grace, spirit, and dignity.”

Social media critics weren’t the only people Taylor had to deal with on Sunday night. Actor of “The Tear” was seen in another viral video scolding a security guard for putting his hands on her after the ceremony.
In the video you can see Taylor outside the Oscars reprimanding security guard for putting his “hands on a woman” and calling him “rude.”

TO A source close to the incident told TMZ. that the security guard blocked Taylor by trying to push her away from the stairs as she attempted to return to the stage for a Best Picture victory photo with the rest of the “One Battle” cast. The source added that the security guard asked Taylor to apologize to him during the tense moment.
A News source with knowledge of the events confirmed TMZ’s account.
The Oscars and the security company that hired the guard both have apologized for the incident.
