The “One Mississippi” star appeared on Tuesday’s episode of “Breaking bread with Tom PapaPodcast, and almost 50 minutes into the episode, Dad mentioned how much he “enjoyed” Notaro’s old podcast.
“Yeah… that show is over,” Notaro said dryly, referring to the podcast he used to co-host with Hines.
The duo’s late podcast “Tig and Cheryl: True Story”, focused on former friends having very silly conversations about documentaries.
“Cheryl was one of my favorite friends to make a fool out of,” Notaro told Dad. “And we made each other laugh a lot. And I love documentaries, and it was fun having to watch a documentary every week, but it also took the pressure off of us, because we were asking each other things like, ‘Who are you attracted to in this documentary?'”

After recalling how much fun she and Hines would have had annoying their more “NPR-type” fans who wanted more “critical” reviews of the documentaries they would discuss, Notaro got into the nitty-gritty of why she ended things with Hines.
“But Cheryl is married to Bobby Kennedy Jr.,” Notaro said. “When he was announcing his candidacy, I felt that I needed to distance myself, because there are beliefs that years ago were like a mosquito on the arm and that were gaining more and more attention.”
Although the Grammy-nominated comedian didn’t mention any specific beliefs he disagreed with, like his own. inclination to spread misinformation about vaccines – attempted to further distance himself from Kennedy by pointing out that his “friendship with Cheryl predated her marriage to Bobby.”

“He was into environmental law,” Notaro said of Kennedy, who married Hines in 2014. “And, again, other beliefs he had were like a mosquito on my arm. But then it started to grow, and Cheryl wanted me to listen to Bobby. They had these good ideas, and I was like, ‘I can’t, I can’t, I can’t.’ I just didn’t trust it. And then he endorsed Trump, and then “Things got difficult.”
Dad then mentioned how Hines also tried to distance herself from her husband’s political views.
Kennedy himself even admitted it to TMZ. Shortly after endorsing President Donald Trump last year, he said his wife wasn’t thrilled when he decided to go full MAGA.
“She’s a lifelong Democrat and the idea of me supporting Donald Trump for president was just … something she would never have imagined, would never have wanted in her life,” Kennedy said at the time. “She agreed because she loves me and wanted to support me, but it was never something she encouraged.”

“When someone says, ‘Oh, we don’t agree on everything’ within a marriage that’s so vague,” Notaro said, noting that she and her wife, actress Stephanie Allynne, don’t always agree on the temperature of the thermostat.
“But I would never say that Stephanie and I don’t agree on some things. And that’s why I think this has led me to the fact that it’s not my world. It’s a difficult step.”
If Hines’ recent media appearances to promote his upcoming memoir are any indication, he appears to be embracing the right.
On Tuesday, she fought with “The View” co-hosts defending Kennedybut his appearance Wednesday on Meghan McCain’s talk show, “Citizen McCain,” was much more revealing.

In the interview, she talked about how she found Republican women in Washington, DC, glamorous.
“I mean, listen, when Melania Trump is setting the bar… That’s a high bar.” Hines said 22 minutes into the episode.. “All the women in this administration are amazing.”
“I like everyone there” Hines spoke with McCain about the Trump administration. “I have a really good time with these guys.”
