The former Superman Dean Cain says that Superman’s new film made this 1 brutal mistake

The former Superman Dean Cain is aiming at James Gunn’s interpretation of the character in the new film based on the homonymous superhero.

In an interview this week, the conservative actor, who starred as the hero who carries out the Cape in “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” from 1993 to 1997, complained that he believes that Gunn has made the character “aroused” due to today’s political climate.

“How did Hollywood woke up this character?” he He told TMZ In a video clip. “How much will Disney change your Snow White? Why are these characters to change? [to] exist for the times? For Superman, it was ‘Truth, Justice and the American Way’. Well, they left that … they came up with ‘truth, justice and a better tomorrow’. Change dear characters, I don’t think it’s a great idea. ”

Cain, who backed to Trump “100%” in the 2024 elections seemed to be referring to the controversy over the new Disney snowy action version. The film, which premiered in March, caused a speech in social networks about the cast of Rachel Zegler, a Latin actress, as white as snow and adjustments to the narrative and the characters in history, including the seven dwarves.

“The ‘American way’ is friendly with immigrants, tremendously friendly with immigrants. But there are rules. You can’t come saying: ‘I want to get rid of all the rules in the United States, because I want it to be more like Somalia,'” Cain continued. “Well, that doesn’t work, because you had to leave Somalia to come here … it makes no sense.”

Cain said that “there must be limits,” he added: “Because we cannot have everyone in the United States. We cannot have everyone, society will fail. Therefore, there must be limits.”

The comments of the star “Out of time” occurred after Gunn recently told him The Sunday Times That the film is an “immigrant” and “basic human kindness”.

“I mean, Superman is the history of the United States,” Gunn said. “An immigrant who came from other places and populated the country, but for me it is mainly a story that says that basic human kindness is a value and is something we have lost.”

The Sunday Times pointed out that the hero of the comic was created in 1933 by Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel, children of Jewish immigrants.

Gunn’s comments caused a stir on social networks in the midst of indignation for the incessant ice raids of the Trump administration and the mass deportation of migrants.

Cain representatives did not immediately respond to News’s request for comments.

In another part of the interview with TMZ, Cain said he was previously “excited” by the film, but thinks “it was a mistake” for Gunn to make a “political comment.” He predicted that Gunn’s words “damaged” the performance of the movie at the box office. (The early projections of how ticket sales will work are divided, Variety reported).

“I was excited by the movie. I’m [still] Excited to see what it is, because James Gunn seems to have a sense of humor and Superman’s last iterations did not have much humor, “he added, by deadline.” So I’m supporting it is a success, but I don’t like that last political comment. “

Gunn responded to the online reaction, led by Maga supporters, earlier this week.

The filmmaker ruled out the criticism, telling Variety on Monday: “I think this movie is for everyone. I have nothing to tell anyone. I’m not here to judge people. I think this is a movie about kindness, and I think that is something that everyone can identify.”

“Superman,” starring David Korenswet, arrives at theaters tomorrow.
