The Grammy nominations are finally here and WOW, what a list!
Now we know who is competing for the 68th Grammy Awards.
The Recording Academy enlisted alumni Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii and more to announce this year’s slate of nominees on Friday morning.
Kendrick Lamar earned nine nominations for “GNX,” a kinetic LP that combines the confidence of his victory lap over Drake with sounds and lyrics matured by his love for the city of Los Angeles.
Lady Gaga earned seven nominations for “Mayhem,” her synth-centric but gender-fluid ode to the shadows of the dance floor. Although this is his fifth nomination for Album of the Year, it could be the first time he finally snags the title.
Selected in six categories, the buzz around Bad Bunny’s vibrant “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” may be reinforced by his upcoming Super Bowl halftime concert. It is only the second time that an album entirely in Spanish has been chosen Album of the Year; the first was his 2022 release, “Un Verano Sin Ti.”
Sabrina Carpenter captured six nominations for “Man’s Best Friend,” proving once again that the silly and the sensual make great bedfellows when in the right hands.

This year there are two new categories, bringing the total number of awards to 95.
The designers will compete for the honor of Best Album Cover for the first time.
Best Country Album was split into two categories, adding the new Best Traditional Country Album and coincidentally decided it was time to rename the original Best Contemporary Country Album just a year after Beyoncé became the first black artist to win the category.
Music had to be released between August 31, 2024 and August 30, 2025 to be eligible for consideration.
Members of the Recording Academy will have from December 12, 2025 to January 5, 2026 to reflect on their decisions.
Once everything is accounted for, the ceremony will take place on February 1 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
