The high Democratic senator continues with the racist diatribe against Zohran Mamdani
A superior Democratic senator has joined the choir mostly of the right of Islamophobic attacks against Zohran Mamdani, launching a surprisingly racist diatribe full of lies against the candidate for the recently elected Muslim mayor of the Party for the city of New York.
Repeating that rhetoric is Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a New York Democrat who angryly made statements without foundation about Mamdani’s beliefs during an appearance on Thursday’s radio on “The Brian Lehrer Show” by WNYC. The senator had responded in the air to the unfounded statements of a person who called that the New York Jewish community faces threats as a result of Mamdani’s victory.
“The person who calls is exactly the components of New York with which I have spoken that they are alarmed. They are alarmed by the previous public statements. They are alarmed by past positions, particularly references to global jihad,” Gillibrand said. “This is a very serious problem, because people who glorify the slaughter of the Jews create fear in our communities.” The global intifada “is a statement that means:” destroys Israel and kills all Jews. “

The “intifada” Arabic word is used to describe uprisings and rebellions, more commonly the Palestinian resistance of decades to the Israeli occupation. “Globalize intifada” is a phrase used by some activists to express solidarity with the Palestinian Liberation Movement. The Arabic word “jihad” means fighting, although over time many non -Muslims in the United States have come to believe that the word is synonymous with religious violence.
Gillibrand’s comments probably referred to a previous interview in which Mamdani was asked if he would denounce the phrase, “globalize the intifada”, which he has repeatedly responded that, although he does not use the term himself, he will not use the police discourse office in the way in which President Donald Trump.
Lehrer backed away at least three times separated during the interview with Gillibrand, remembering the senator that Mamdani has spoken extensively about his commitment to protect all New Yorkers, including the Jewish community, and that there is no evidence that the Democrat has expressed his support for Gillibrand violence and the person who calls him.
Despite the facts of facts and admit that it does not “have all the data and information,” Gillibrand continued to drive the lie that Mamdani supports the rhetoric that puts Jewish New Yorkers in danger, not to mention the anti-mulin hatred that rises along with anti-Semitism. After facing protests and public reaction for his comments, the senator’s office told Rolling Stone on Friday that “Malpoca”.

“Why does Senator Gillibrand repeating divisive republican fear about Zohran? It has promised the 1st day to combat anti -Semitism and protect Jewish New Yorkers like me,” Lincoln Restler published in X in response to his comments.
“Voters cry out for a vision to make life in our city more affordable, not politicians who only try to scare each other,” he continued. “I would like the senator to take the time to do his homework and clarify his facts before attacking the Democratic candidate for the mayor.”
Gillibrand’s comments were followed by his companion Democratic representative of New York Laura Gillen, who this weekend promoted the lie that Mamdani has asked for violence against the Jews. The minority leader of the representatives chamber, Hakeem Jeffries (DN.Y.) joined Sunday to raise false statements about Mamdani, demanding “This Week” of ABC to clarify its position on slogans related to the Palestinians.
“We should all be disgusted by the flooding of anti-musulm comments thrown after the victory of Zohran Mamdani in the primary of the Mayor’s Office of New York, some flagrants, other latent,” Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) “Senator.
Mamdani has not commented directly on the Senator’s rhetoric, but Kristen Welker de NBC asked him on Sunday if he condemns the same phrases that Gillibrand accused him of supporting. The progressive made it clear that it would not make, maintaining that the public should focus less on the slogans and more on their words and actions that support all people in the historically diverse city of New York City.
“That is not a language that I use. The language I use and the language that I will continue to use to lead this city is the one that speaks clearly to my intention, which is an intention based on a belief in universal human rights,” he told “Meet The Press.” “And ultimately, that is the basis of much of my policy, the belief that freedom, justice and security are things that, to have meaning, must be applied to all people, and that also include Israelis and Palestinians.”

The pressure on Mamdani to denounce certain phrases or groups not related to him is only the last incident of Muslim public officials who face scrutiny at a level defenders, they say that it is much higher than non -Muslims.
“We know these attacks very well. At a time of greater violence against elected officials, we cannot allow attacks against Zohran Mamdani to continue. They contribute directly to dehumanization and violence ongoing against Muslims,” they wrote four Muslim members of Congress on Friday in a letter. “We unequivocally reject the normalization of anti-musulman hatred and fear and call to elected leaders throughout our country to speak.”
