Hamas accepts Gaza’s fire cessation proposal
The Israeli army said he had summoned 60,000 additional reservists and extended the 20,000 “service as part of the next phase of the ‘Chario of Operation Gideon'”, the name of Israel’s military operation in Gaza.
Israel is preparing to launch an extended military operation in the city of Gaza, possibly in the next few days, even when negotiators fight to take Israel and Hamas to a high fire after 22 months of combat.
It comes when human rights groups warn that a humanitarian crisis could get worse in Gaza, where most residents have been displaced, the vast neighborhoods are in ruins and communities face the threat of famine.

An Israeli military official, who speaks under the condition of anonymity in line with military regulations, said that Israel’s defense forces will operate in parts of the city of Gaza, where they have not yet operated and where they believe that Hamas is still active.
The official said that Israeli troops are already operating in the neighborhoods of Zeitoun and Jabaliya of the city of Gaza to prepare the bases for the expanded operation, which is expected to receive the approval of the chief of cabinet in the next few days.
The IDF refers to the city of Gaza as the main military and ruler of Hamas and the Israeli troops will be the vast network of Hamas underground tunnels, the official added.
Although Israel has attacked and killed a large part of Hamas senior leadership, parts of the militant group actively regrouped and attacks, including the launch of rockets to Israel, said the official.
It is not clear when the operation will begin, but it could be a matter of days. The official said that the operation was expected to last between four and six months.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has constantly said that the objective of the war is to ensure the liberation of the remaining hostages and ensure that Hamas and other militants can never threaten Israel.
The planned offensive, announced for the first time earlier this month, has increased the international sentence of Israel and fed the fears of leading to another massive displacement of Palestinians.

AP journalists saw small groups that were heading south from the city this week, but how many will flee voluntarily still without being clear. Some said they were waiting to see how events develop before moving once more, and many insist that no part is safe from air attacks.
The so -called Israeli occurs when a growing campaign of exhausted reservists is accusing the government of perpetuating war for political reasons and not bringing home the remaining hostages.
The families of the hostages and the former heads of Army and Intelligence have also expressed their opposition to the expanded operation in the city of Gaza. Most of the hostages of the hostages want a high immediate fire and care, an expanded assault could boost the return to the 50 hostages that are still in Gaza. Israel believes that 20 are still alive.
The former bosses are skeptical. The goal of completely destroying Hamas is attainable. The former Shin Bet chief, Israel’s internal security agency, Yoram Cohen, described it as a “fantasy”, saying that “if someone imagines that we can reach all terrorists and each well and each weapon, and in parallel bring our hostages home, I think it is impossible.”
The war began when Hamas carried out a terrorist attack against Israel on October 7, 2023, killing about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping 251. Most hostages have been released in ceasers or other agreements. Hamas says that he will only release the rest in exchange for a durable fire and an Israeli withdrawal.
The mediators and Hamas said this week that Hamas leaders had agreed to cease fire, although similar ads have been made in the past that did not lead to cessefires.
An Israeli official who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media that Israel is in constant contact with the mediators in an effort to ensure the release of hostages.
Netanyahu has repeatedly said that it will oppose an agreement that does not include the “complete defeat of Hamas”.
More than 62,000 people have been killed during Israel’s 22 month offensive, Gaza’s Ministry of Health said Monday. The Ministry is part of the government led by Hamas and is treated by medical professionals. The ministry does not say how many of the dead were civilians or combatants, but says that women and children represent about half of them.
