The toll of war in Gaza’s children
An Israeli air attack prior to dawn hit a hospital in Northern Gaza On early Sunday, forcing patients to evacuate quickly after the staff said they had received a warning only 20 minutes before the attack.
The strike hit Al-Ahili hospital in the city of Gaza. A patienta girl, died during evacuation because medical staff could not provide urgent care, said the Ministry of Health led by Hamas.
The health center, one of the few hospitals in operation in the city of Gaza, is directed by the Diocese of Jerusalem, which condemned the attack.

In a statement, the diocese said the twin attacks damaged several buildings, including the Pharmacy and Emergencies departments.
“Just twenty minutes before the attack, the Israeli army ordered all patients, employees and displaced people to immediately evacuate the hospital facilities before their bombing,” the statement said. “We thank God that there were no injuries or deaths as a result of bombing.”
The Diocese said that the hospital has been beaten five times since the beginning of the war in November 2023, “this time in Ramos Sunday morning and the beginning of Holy Week.” Ramos Sunday commemorates Jesus in Jerusalem.
“We call on all governments and people of good will who intervene to stop all kinds of attacks against medical and humanitarian institutions,” he said. “We pray and ask for the end of this horrible war and the suffering of so many.”

The director of the Al-Ahli hospital, Dr. Fadel Naim, said in an X position that hospital damage will affect more than 100 patients and dozens of medical staff.
The images of the sequelae showed the cement roof of the hospital, surrounded by rubble. Dr. Munir Al-Bours, the general director of the Ministry of Health, described the terrifying evacuation, with people carried out in the streets in hospital beds.
“It was very scary for patients … We didn’t know what happened,” he said. The Ministry of Health said that patients have been transferred to three other hospitals in Gaza City, including Shifa, Al-Quds and the Kuwait Campo Hospital.
Israel said he hit a command and control center used by Hamas in the hospital to plan and execute attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers, without providing evidence. He said that before the strike, measures were taken to mitigate the damage, including the emission of warnings and the use of precise ammunition and air surveillance.
Hours later, a separate strike in a car in Deir Al-Balah in downtown Gaza, killed at least seven people, six brothers and his friend, according to the morgue staff of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs hospital, who received the bodies.

The Israeli army also said they went to another command and control center at Deir Al-Balah when many Hamas militants were present and planned to attack Israeli soldiers. This was not connected to the strike in the car in the same area, which the army said he was investigating.
The attacks occurred hours after the Israel Minister of Defense said that military activity would expand rapidly through Gaza and that people would have to evacuate “fighting areas.” Israel also announced on Saturday the completion of the Morag corridor, cutting the southern city of Rafah of the rest of Gaza, and the army said that it would soon expand “vigorously” in most of the small coastal territory.
Israel demands that Hamas release 59 remaining hostages, of which 24 are believed to be alive, and accept new proposed terms of high fire.
In the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health of Gaza, led by Hamas, said that 11 people died and more than 100 injured.
Medical facilities are often criticized in wars, but combatants generally represent incidents such as accidental or exceptional ones, since hospitals enjoy special protection under international law. In his 18 -month campaign in Gaza, Israel has stood out when carrying out an open campaign in hospitals, besieging and attacking them, a few times, as well as hitting others on strikes while accused of using them as coverage for their combatants.
The war began after Hamas killed 1,200 people during his attack on October 7, 2023, mostly civilians, and took 250 captive people, some of whom were finally released in high -fire agreements. At least 41 hostages have died in captivity.
So far, more than 50,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed in the retaliation offensive of Israel, according to the Ministry of Health there, that does not differentiate between combatants and civilians in their account, but says that more than half of the dead are women and children.
