The Jewish faculty calls the website of anti -Semitism tag in higher education
A growing number of Jewish personnel and faculty in higher education is talking against what they say is that the federal government and its own institutions assemble accusations of anti -Semitism to silence dissent, punish those who criticize the Israeli government and exercise greater control over the education system of the United States.
On Wednesday, at least 40 employees of this type of the University of Virginia signed a statement in the Daily Cavalier, the student’s student document, warning against the “exploitation of the term anti -Semitism deployed in an effort to harass, expel, arrest, deport and defame students, teachers, staff and other academic workers throughout the country.”
“The politically disadvantaged discourse is falsely labeled as ‘anti -Semitism.’
The Faculty note in the letter that they have heard the term “anti -Semitism” used more in the last 18 months than after President Donald Trump calling the neo -Nazis who marched on the campus in 2017 “very thin people” during their first period.
A spokesman from the University of Virginia did not immediately respond to News themezone’s request for comments.
Jewish students and staff from all over the country have been making similar statements since October 2023, when Israeli forces responded to Hamas’ mortal attack when all of Gaza, which makes it uninhabitable for the Palestinians and preventing humanitarian assistance from outside the territory from entering the territory. The tension in the American campuses grew after many schools responded to the protests against the mostly peaceful war last year with violence and accusations of anti -Semitism.

From the protests and the continuous military escalation of Israel in Gaza, that many in the international community now describe as genocide, the legislators on both sides of the hall have painted the university campuses as insecure for the Jewish community due to the students and the personnel who speak against the state of Israel.
After Trump launched his second presidency, universities began to face financing threats and a violent reaction from the federal government if they did not dismantle certain programs and prohibit certain speeches under the appearance of combating anti -Semitism. The president of the University of Virginia, Jim Ryan, known for defending the diversity and inclusion on the campus, was essentially forced to resign last month to help establish an investigation by the Department of Justice on the initiatives of diversity, equity and inclusion of the school.
“We write to affirm that there is no unbridled crisis of anti -Semitism on our campus, despite the prolonged attempts of the current administration of persuading the public that there is one”, on Tuesday, the Jewish staff of the University of New York City, the University of California, Berkeley and the University of Georgetown, in a statement from the Superior University.
“Defending the Palestinian right to live is to defend the shared life of all people to survive, persistence and flourish. It is the incarnation of the Jewish principle of Tzedek (justice).
