Recent investigations have shown how weight loss and diabetes medications, also known as agonists of the peptide-1 receptor similar to glucagon (LPG-1), can help with a variety of other conditions.
This includes cardiovascular diseases, arthritis, skin conditions and even cancer prevention.
The medicine has been related to a lower general incidence of chronic disease, and a Swiss study that projects a 6.4% reduction in the annual mortality rate by 2045.

Dr. Sue Decotiis, a weight loss doctor certified by the Board in New York City, acknowledged that GLP-1 drugs can go to “systemic problems” throughout the body.
“Heart, kidney, diabetes, neurogenetic diseases such as Alzheimer’s, addiction, psychiatric disorders, autoimmune disease: they all have one thing in common, and that is a deregulated metabolism,” Digital News told News News in an interview in the camera.

LGLP-1, including semaglutids (Ozempic and Wegovy) and Tirzepatides (Mounjaro and Zepbound), have “special effects on multiple body systems,” said Decotiis.
These medications are effective for weight loss because insulin levels increase, which makes the body a “fat burning machine”, in addition to suppressing appetite.

Fat cells are also highly metabolic, according to the expert, and produce cytokines that contribute to inflammation in the body, which can lead to autoimmune diseases, cancer and other health problems.
“By reducing the volume of fat cells in the body, we reduce all these inflammatory cytokines,” Decotiis said. “And that’s why we see many of the effects we see.”

Even patients who have not had significant weight loss are “much better senses,” Deciis said.
The doctor has also seen an increase in patients taking LPG-1 to address other conditions beyond obesity and diabetes, such as rheumatoid arthritis and cardiovascular disease.

Decotiis said he feels sure to prescribe these medications as a therapy of multiple symptoms because “they are safe.”
“I feel more comfortable with this than some of the great pharmaceutical drugs that have been out for many years,” he added.

As an example, a patient with rheumatoid arthritis can also have some weight to lose, which would make them a candidate for a low LPG-1 dose, Decotiis said.
“Nine out of 10 times, they feel better,” he said. “I have seen people change, even their personality. When you have pain all the time, many times you are not a very pleasant person. So you see real changes in people’s lives by getting rid of this inflammation.”

For those who believe they can be candidates for a LPG-1, Decotiis recommends looking for a certified doctor of weight loss for adequate prescription and discourages self-decoons or “micro dosage.” (Istock)

“If you don’t know what your body’s composition is, they don’t know how to treat you,” he said. “They don’t know when you should stop the drug, when you should reduce the drug … if you do it [online]you can save some money, but it will probably put that weight again and waste a lot of time. “
She added: “It is important to do so in the right way and really treat these medications with respect, treat their body with respect and understand that this is a wonderful tool if the right is used.”
