They are surrounded: the survey finds many Democrats who call the weak and ineffective party
Washington (AP) – Many Democrats see their political party as “weak” or “ineffective”, according to a survey that finds considerable pessimism within democratic ranks. Republicans are more complementary to their party, although a small but significant part describes the Republican party as “greedy” or say that it is generally “bad.”
The survey conducted by the News-NORC Public Affairs Research Center in Julio reveals warning signals for the main US parties as the political approach changes to the elections in New Jersey and Virginia this fall and the middle period competitions next year.
Respondents were asked to share the first word or phrase that occurred to me when they thought of Republican and Democratic parties. The answers were classified into broad categories, including negative and positive attributes. In general, American adults had a dim vision of both parties, with approximately 4 out of 10 using negative attributes, including words such as “dishonest” or “stupid.”
But almost nine months after Republican Donald Trump won a second presidential mandate, the Democrats seem to be housing more resentment for the state of his party than the Republicans. Democrats were more likely to describe their own party negatively than Republicans. Republicans had approximately twice as probabilities to describe their own party positively.
“They are without thorns,” said Cathia Krehbiel, a 48 -year -old Democrat from Indianola, Iowa, about her party.
She believes that the party’s response to the Trump administration has been “dispersed.”
“I feel that there is recently a lot that abhorrectually,” Krehbiel said. “And they talk a little and roll.”
Democrats speak against their own party

Charlie Neibergall through News
In general, approximately one third of the Democrats negatively described their party in the open question.
About 15% described it using words as “weak” or “apathetic”, while additional 10% believe it is widely “ineffective” or “disorganized.”
Only about 2 out of 10 Democrats described their party positively, with approximately 1 out of 10 saying that it is “empathetic” or “inclusive.” An additional 1 in 10 used more general positive descriptors.
It is not clear what impact can the anguish of the Democrats have in the next elections or the political debate in Washington, but no political organization wants to be plagued with internal divisions.
Even so, the frustration of the Democrats seems to reflect their concern that party leaders are not doing enough to stop Trump’s Republican party, which controls Washington.
There are few signs that such voters would leave their party in favor of Trump’s allies in the next elections, and the vast majority of the Democrats negatively described the Republican Party. But unhappy Democrats could decide not to vote at all. That could undermine the impulse of his party to claim at least one Chamber of Congress in 2026.
Jim Williams, a 78 -year -old retiree from Harper Woods, Michigan said he normally supports the Democrats, but is “disappointed” with the game and his murky message. He feels much worse with the Republican Party, who said “has lost it” under Trump’s leadership.
“All he does is intimidate and call the calls. They have no moral, or ethics. And the more they support him, the less I like,” said the independent self -described, about Trump.
What do Republicans say about their party?

Mariam Zuhaib through News
Republicans have approximately twice as probabilities that Democrats describe their party positively, and many also use direct ideological descriptors as “conservative.”
Around 4 out of 10 Republicans used positive attributes to characterize the Republican party, making general mentions of words such as “patriotic or” worker “, or offering associations with the word” freedom. “
Samuel Washington, 65, from Chicago, said that republican votes. Washington praised Trump’s leadership, even recognizing that president’s policies on trade and spending could be creating short -term economic difficulties.
“There is a lot of pain, but the pain is the result of 12 years of misuse and wrong leadership of the Democratic Party,” he said. “I feel very good with the Republicans and the direction they go.”
But the views were not evenly good. Around 2 out of 10 Republicans said something negative about the party, including phrases such as “greedy”, “for the rich or” corrupt. “
Republican Dick Grayson, an 83 -year -old veteran, Tennessee, said he is “disappointed” by the loyalty of his party with Trump.
Among other things, he pointed out the price of Trump’s tax and expenses package, which will add almost $ 3.3 billion to the nation’s debt during the next decade, according to the budget office of the non -partisan congress.
“I’ve always been a republican, but I’m disappointed by both parties,” said Grayson.
How Americans see the parties in general

David Goldman through News
Among all Americans, the survey finds that the Republican party looks a bit more negative than the Democratic Party. The different is not great: 43% used negative words to describe Republicans, compared to 39% for Democrats.
Much of the negativity is driven by the opposite party, and the disgust of the independents by both. Independents are much more likely to describe both parties with negative attributes instead of positive descriptors, although significant participation did not offer an opinion at all.

Curtis Musser, a 60 -year -old non -affiliated voter from Beverly Hills, Florida, said both games have changed too much towards the extreme for their taste.
He said he is ready for a serious third to arise before the next presidential elections, pointing to the new “América Party” of Elon Musk, which has taken to launch.
“Maybe it would put us in the right direction,” said the retired school teacher.
