Tina Fey reveals
Tina Fey revealed on Friday a “dirty secret” of “Saturday Night Live” to save the creators of a version of the United Kingdom some stress.
At the Edimburg TV festival, presenter Graham Norton mentioned the former writer and star of “SNL” (1997-2006) that he could not believe that British writers would be awake all night on Tuesday, as American counterparts have done, to finish sketches before the table reads on Wednesday.
The shifts until the hours of the war are the things of the legend of “SNL”, but Fey became sincere about its effectiveness.
“Here is a dirty secret, you don’t have to do it that way, you could start in the morning,” he told Norton, according to PA news agency through Scotland’s Dunfermline Press.
The “SNL” Jason Sudeikis student essentially agreed with Fey in an interview several years ago.
When asked if the process was “productive or simply by tradition”, the future star of “Ted Lasso” replied:
“I think it adds to that vertiginous rhythm, the mystique a little. But I think it is a vestige of tradition. There are many things there: Lorne [Michaels] He has … a strong belief in hiring people for his first television work there, because there are many things that are done there that are contradictive for people who have worked in other places. “
It is expected that “Saturday Night Live” in the United Kingdom will be launched next year and Michaels will serve as an executive producer, the New York Times previously reported.
