TMZ on Tuesday observed a transmission of money to the Bitcoin account connected to a ransom note for Nancy Guthrie.

TMZ, the showbiz site that previously received a possible ransom note, reported that it had seen activity on the account for the first time since the kidnapping drama unfolded. But the outlet refused to reveal the amount.

Citing an unnamed source, People later reported that it was only “hundreds of dollars.” KGUN, a Tucson station that also received the same ransom note that allegedly contained prominent details of Guthrie’s home, noted that the transaction was “less than $300.”

The amount was a trifle compared to the $6 million requested by an alleged kidnapper and which would be delivered before February 9 if the first deadline was not met. Apparently both deadlines came and went. “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie and her siblings have expressed their willingness to pay their kidnapper while pleading for their mother’s return.

Nancy Guthrie has not been seen since the night of Jan. 31, but the case received a jolt Tuesday when officials released images of an apparently armed person wearing a ski mask and gloves who appeared to tamper with Guthrie’s doorbell camera the night of her disappearance.

Additionally, a man was detained and reportedly released in connection with the case while authorities conducted a search at a property in Rio Rico, Arizona, about 60 miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home in the Tucson area.
