President Donald Trump completely lost control on social media Wednesday morning with an unhinged post in response to a story in The New York Times that suggested he was showing “signs of fatigue” and was now working “shorter days.”

The article by Katie Rogers and Dylan Freedman, published Tuesday, argues that Trump, 79,’s attempt to project “energy, virility and physical stamina 24 hours a day” is becoming increasingly difficult to achieve.

They pointed to his recent apparent falling asleep during an Oval Office event and his reduction in official appearances as evidence. Read the full article here.

The notoriously sensitive Trump responded with a long speech of more than 300 words on his Truth Social platform.

“The Creeps of the failed New York Times are at it again,” the publication began, before pivoting to boast about their 2024 election, including a typo “one of our nation’s districts between 2750 and 550, a complete annihilation.”

Trump repeated some of his frequent talking points about the economy, his role in securing ceasefires and reducing inflation.

He then attacked the premise of the article again:

“Doing this takes a lot of work and energy, and I’ve never worked so hard in my life. Yet despite all of this, the radical left lunatics at the soon-to-be defunct New York Times told me that maybe I’m wasting my energy, despite facts that show exactly the opposite.”

“They know this is wrong, as is almost everything they write about me, including the election results, ALL FOR A NEGATIVE PURPOSE,” he continued.

Trump called the Times, which he has attacked for its critical coverage for years, a “cheap ‘RAG’” that is “truly an “ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE.”

He then said that Rogers “is assigned to write only bad things about me, he’s a third-rate reporter” and, echoing his “Quiet, Piggy” attack on another journalist this month, added that Rogers is “ugly, both inside and out.”

Trump concluded: “There will be a day when I will run out of energy, it happens to everyone, but with a PERFECT PHYSICAL EXAM AND COMPREHENSIVE COGNITIVE TEST (“That was excellent”) RECENTLY DONE, it certainly isn’t now!”
