Trump addresses disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother
WASHINGTON, Feb 3 (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he planned to call American journalist and television host Savannah Guthrie following the disappearance of her 84-year-old mother.
“I’m going to call her later. I think it’s a terrible thing,” Trump told reporters during a bill signing in the Oval Office. “I always got along very well with Savannah. (It’s a) very unusual situation, but we’re going to find out.”
He also supported the idea of increasing the number of federal agents involved in the case, which is being led by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

The family last saw Nancy Guthrie at her home Saturday night and reported her missing Sunday afternoon.
The sheriff’s department said Tuesday it believes Guthrie was abducted against her will “possibly in the middle of the night.”
Savannah Guthrie, co-host of NBC’s “Today” show, will no longer host coverage of the 2026 Winter Olympics opening ceremony, NBC News reported Tuesday.
