Trump announces Victory Day for World War II, but is wrong with the date:

President Donald Trump announced that the United States will join several nations to celebrate Victory Day on May 8, apparently without realizing that World War II only ended in Europe during that month in 1945, while the United States continued to fight against Japan until August.

“Many of our allies and friends celebrate May 8 as Victory Day, but we did more than any other country, with much, by producing a victorious result in World War II,” Trump wrote Thursday night in a long publication on his Truth social platform.

“For this, I renowned on May 8 as Victory Day for World War II and November 11 as Victory Day for World War I,” he continued.

Nazi Germany surrendered to the Allied forces on May 8, 1945, just over a week after Adolf Hitler died from suicide inside his Berlin bunker. The Russian forces had captured the German capital on May 2 after their former Soviet Union lost approximately 24 million people in the war.

Victory Day is celebrated annually on May 8 by several former members of the Allied powers, such as France, Poland and the United Kingdom (which calls it day). Other nations, including Belarus and Russia, however, commemorate the end of the hostilities of the powers of the axis on May 9.

Trump, who, according to reports, is anxious to celebrate a 4 -mile military parade on his birthday in June, he argued on Thursday in his position that the United States “never” publicly marks his victories in times of war, and seemed to blame the current or previous leaders for this alleged lack of patriotism.

He wrote: “We won both wars, nobody was close to us in terms of strength, courage or military brilliance, but we never celebrate anything. That is because we no longer have leaders who know how to do it! We are going to start celebrating our victories again!”

Since then, frustrated social media users have pointed out that on November 11, all American veterans under this newly announced plan, however, as has been the case for 70 years, and will only be dedicated to those who served during the First World War would no longer honor.

Former President Woodrow Wilson declared Armisticio Day of November 11 in 1919 to celebrate the end of World War I after the signing of the Versailles Treaty. The date was officially replaced by Veterans Day in 1954 under former President Dwight Eisenhower.

Trump himself has never served and, according to the reports, he avoided the draft of the Vietnam War with a diagnosis of bone spur in the foot. The doctor’s daughter who provided the diagnosis later said she had made that determination as a favor for her owner: Trump’s father, Fred.

The announcement of Victory Day has caused indignation and confusion in X, previously Twitter.

“We won World War II on August 15, 1945 when the Japanese surrendered. Trump is a complete moron,” wrote former MSNBC presenter Keith Olbermann, and another user asked: “Why is Trump … erasing all veterans after World War II and their achievements”?

This is Donald Trump’s form to blame our veterans for what happened in the wars of Korea, Vietnam and the Middle East.

He is removing veterans’ day because the United States had no clear “victories.”

Why do Trump believe he needs to change everything? Changing veterans day to the day of victory for World War I is simply stupid

May 8 has been marked as the day before Trump was born. VE means victory in Europe. There is also a VJ day – Victoria on Japan Day in August.

Trump is a simple Spleton. He does not understand that tens of thousands of troops were killed and injured between May and August 1945, so on May 8 as Victory Day for World War II it makes sense from a starting point.
