President Donald Trump hit his political enemies during the visit of Los Angeles Dodgers to the White House on Monday, where the team was honored for his 2024 World Series victory.

“We have a couple of senators here. I just don’t like them especially, so I will not present them,” Trump joked, causing some tense laughs of the players and reporters, according to The Hill.

I was not exactly clear who was talking, since not even the Sens. Alex Padilla (D) and Adam Schiff (D) were not present.

Praising the Dodgers as “very talented people,” Trump took a moment to highlight the Japanese toleter Shohei Ohtani for his appearance.

“It looks like a movie star,” Trump said. “He has a good future, I tell you.”

Ohtani, who last season became the first player in the history of MLB to reach 50 homers and steal 50 bases in the same year, is already considered one of the best to play the game.

Last season he marked his debut at the Dodgers, after signing a record contract of $ 700 million and 10 years at the end of 2023.

The Campocorto Mookie Betts was also seen at the ceremony.

Although Betts skipped the usual visit of the White House after his former team, Boston’s red socks, won the 2018 World Series, this time put the loyalty of the team first.

“Being black in the United States in a situation like this, it is a difficult place to be,” he said on Friday. “No matter what you choose, someone will get angry.”

“It’s not about me. It’s not about politics,” Betts added. “It’s about the dodgers and my loyalty to these bOys at the Club House “.
