Trump Offers Wild Theory About Why
President Donald Trump floated a theory about why Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has come under so much attack this past week, and it’s not because of her department’s disastrous immigration crackdown in Minneapolis.
Trump suggested in a Truth Social rant published Friday night that the real culprit is misogyny.
“The lunatics, insurrectionists, agitators and thugs of the radical left are going after Kristi Noem, the Secretary of Homeland Security, because she is a woman and has done a GREAT JOB!” he wrote.

He went on to praise Noem’s handling of the US-Mexico border before calling the massive anti-ICE protests in Minneapolis a “scam” meant to “cover up” an ongoing fraud scandal in Minnesota.
Minneapolis has erupted in protest over the murder of two American citizens, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, by federal immigration agents, as well as the general atmosphere of terror that ICE’s aggressive tactics have sown in parts of the city and its suburbs.
Noem received an especially harsh sentence for her statements following the death of Pretti, who was shot and killed by Border Patrol agents. Almost immediately after the shooting, Noem said Pretti planned to “inflict maximum damage” on law enforcement and had been “brandishing a weapon,” a claim that ran counter to multiple eyewitness videos of the incident.

Both Democrats and some Republicans have called for her to be fired, and influential conservative figures, including former News host Tucker Carlson, have condemned her response to the shooting.
Norm defended his initial reaction to the murder in a News interview on Thursday, saying “we were using the best information we had at the time.”
